Rasmuth Alfredo🐈[Spa/Eng]

When we were just days away from getting married, my fiancé and I had already spent a month walking around the guardhouse of the residence where we would be our home together, because just that month a very young cat had given birth to her first litter of kittens, who the kind and courteous guards as well as a couple of neighbors in the community, took care of her and her babies, offering her food to have the strength to feed her offspring; A few pieces of cloth and a box bed under a parked car was the shelter for these three feline babies, each one was bigger than the other and also their development was very noticeable. When the oldest kitten growled and played with the second brother to be born, eating already alone of what the watchers served them in small cups, while the youngest brother had a very difficult time doing it.

His condition was critical due to the lack of food that he did not receive from his mother because he could not find where to point his muzzle to be nursed and when he found where he should feed from his mother, his siblings had left the cat without milk. It had been a month of growth of which his siblings saw, heard, ate, played and he did not. The watchmen mentioned to us about his difficulties, my fiancé approached to analyze them especially him, since indeed his head was shaking from one side to the other when he tried to walk as if he had Parkinson's, the watchmen thought that surely the cat had dropped him or something similar, then they turned on a flashlight to pass it through his little eyes to know if they were dilated but nothing happened; they snapped their fingers near his ears, but nothing at all.

That day we went up and were very touched by the little one, but after consulting with my fiancé, after a long day of interest in convincing him to adopt the kitten, he agreed on the condition that I would take care of him. Since a pet is a big responsibility, as similar as having a baby, because it will always depend on you; so I committed myself to take care of the little one. So we went down the next day to pick him up and publicly tell the group that we were taking one of them before they were taken to animal protection. I remember he was so tiny he fit in the palm of my husband's hand.

The first day at home, he was falling all over the floor as it is ceramic and that caused slipping plus the instability of his little paws. We looked for a carpet to give him stability, a small box, since I had read about boxes and cats, they feel safer and warmer, seeing many memes of specular beds abandoned by boxes made me sure he would like it; we also didn't know we were adopting a pet so it was the best improvisation, I looked for some cozy blankets although they were not the right color, we were looking for comfort for him, always.

My mother was at home for those days close to the wedding so she had the joy of meeting her first cat grandson, for now; who had the face of Alfredo, since I imagined him with ties, but his human father came up with Rasmuth; I have no idea where he got it from, because I have researched and so far I can't get anything, he just came up with it. So we named him Rasmuth Alfredo.

Rasmuth had to be fed with injectors those days every two hours, approximately at the right temperature for him to take it. Little by little his tummy was growing and he was walking better, he even started to see better, in just a few days. We are sure that the feeding influenced everything. The day of the wedding arrived, I remember it was something fast without celebration, but they gave us a week of honeymoon to the beach, I did not want to leave my little one, but my mom took care of him, after a week we got the surprise that he was already eating alone, he knew where his little plate of food was, my mother took care of guiding him and teaching him to learn by his own means to feed himself and he did it.

Every afternoon and evening we decided to go down to the ground floor of our building and walk a little with him, the caretakers who loved and missed him and some neighbors were happy to see his progress, the children of the community played while he tried to explore the place a little; In just one month Rasmuth became popular in our residence complex, besides being just a kitten with overcoming conditions, he was an irresistible and adorable baby cat, because he let himself be touched quietly and stayed still wherever we put him to explore.

A month after our marriage we noticed that every time we called Rasmuth he was going around in circles, even though we were in his nose calling him, so we decided to go to the vet to put him in control, learn a little more about the care of cats, deworm him and vaccinate him. In Venezuela these services are usually very expensive for pets, so we managed to go to a foundation that makes free days every Sunday, the site was in the center of the city of Caracas, an hour's drive from where we live, we dared to take him in arms as he was very quiet in them, especially in the arms of his human dad or his human mom. It was a new experience to ride Rasmuth on buses or in cars that took us to the place.

Where we live is an area that stays quite cool, going down to the center of the city was a little warmer and the weather was different, this made Rasmuth tired and faint. We also noticed that Rasmuth was afraid of dogs and cats, even if they were smaller or younger than him, even humans that they did not know and wanted to pet him, we saw that he implemented his tactic of falling asleep in order not to socialize with anyone on that occasion. When it was our turn the doctor examined him and gave him some vitamins because he needed to gain more weight and muscle mass in his whole body due to lack of taurine and he was dewormed. A few weeks later after doing everything the vet had indicated Rasmuth began to grow in a fast way but he never lost his neurological problems.

Rasmuth has undoubtedly been the center of our joy and the center of the little family we have formed, we learn every day from him and he from us. As they say over there: "Every pet resembles its owners" and the truth is that yes, they adopt attitudes from us, their human parents. As time goes by my husband Joshua has more moments with him as the pictures prove, I am the mom that looks only for his needs, but he also gained a lot of love; I have come to know of Rasmuth that he has a schedule that they adopt very quickly whether it is to play or eat. They are selective with games, at least Rasmuth loves to play hide and seek with my husband, watching the two of them play is so much fun and heartwarming to me.

I am in charge of feeding him on time, of his medications, of keeping him clean every week together with my husband in which we groom him since he doesn't know how to groom himself, I don't know if it is due to lack of model. It took a lot for him to learn to meow, my husband taught him too and now he is a talkative and sometimes scandalous parrot. He doesn't like to be alone, he is very loyal to his parents, he loves to sleep, to eat his cat, he likes to watch TV or videos with his human parents, he likes to listen to classical music or jazz that his cat mom listens to and to accompany me while I work, and recently I discovered that he sends me to sleep late at night, he is very careful with my cat son, he also likes to explore places and he loves his stuffed animal.

It's been seven wonderful months with Rasmuth since he came into our lives and the change has been quite a lot for us, because they grow very fast, teach him, learn, play, watch every step they take, be attentive to their health and do our best to keep them well in every way we can.

Leave me your experience in the comments about your pet. What is his name? How did you meet him or get to have him with you? What are his likes and dislikes? And why does he make you so happy?
