During the three days that the flight continued, life on the ship was flowing quietly, according to the previously approved schedule.

My morning began with the fact that I made a round of the first-aid post, where I checked the condition of our wounded comrades, making adjustments to the treatment as necessary. Then, together with the guards conducted an inspection of our prisoners and only after that began to do the work that was listed in my official duties: visited the greenhouse and the pen for animals, handing out tasks to my subordinates, inspected the ship.

I still had enough time to study new plants, the seeds of which I partially took from Ergan, and partly - on the planet, where we have just visited.

I must say, some of the samples of these plants were really amazing and in appearance and in their properties.

The results of my experiments I carefully recorded in my diary, classifying plants by their type, class and other characteristics.

In the evening many of the crew after dinner gathered in the wardroom and discuss these or other news, or simply telling different fables, made fun of each other.

Before going to sleep, Arthur and I usually admired the view that opens in front of us from the window, watched the stars, past which flew our ship, and dreamed about the time when we return to Earth.

On the fourth day we saw a planet in the window, where we had to deliver the captured pirates.

To be honest, she did not look very hospitable, I would even say that there was something frightening about her. However, Samuel, with whom we became good friends, reassured me, assuring that on this planet is quite tolerable conditions for life. It's just that there are a lot of industrial enterprises, and no one cares about the environment. Perhaps because it employs mainly prisoners.

- But on this planet, dear Vicki, - he said, - there are also some interesting protected areas that I would recommend you to visit. There you will find representatives of flora and fauna unprecedented in other Galaxies. If you want, I can keep you company. I plan to stay on this planet for two or three days, so we'll have time for that.

Naturally, I expressed a strong enthusiasm about this, but when I told Arthur about this proposal, he suddenly darkened.

"You're always on your fifth point of adventure," he grumbled. - Not only do you have different samples from other planets?

- But here they're special, - tried to protest me. - What are you complaining about? What's wrong with you? If you don't want to come with us, no one's forcing you...

- Stupid, I'm just worried about you. I don't like this planet, that's all!

- Samuel said there's nothing dangerous here. - passionate I replied. - And then he offered to organize for us a tour of interesting places on this planet. Are you really not interested? What really happened to you?

- Nothing. I'm just tired of getting into all sorts of trouble, that's all. But if it's that important to you, I'll naturally be there for you.

- Well, good, - I said and kissed his friend on the stubbly cheek. - Have you even lazy to shave, - I said.

Arthur glares at me, waved his hand and went to the bathroom, where soon heard the sound of the shaver.

Soon we were on the planet's surface, landing in its only spaceport. Just half an hour later, an armored car with reinforced security drove up to the entrance gate of our ship, and we gave our prisoners to it. 

Samuel left with them to arrange all the necessary papers. Crew members brought himself up, preparing to leave for home. When our commander returned, we were ready for new adventures.

With us stuck with the bill, which is also already tired of the closed space and we wanted some diversity.

Samuel rented a small light aircraft, like a flying saucer, and we flew to the mysterious Islands. After a few minutes of flight, we found some abandoned city or something similar to it.

- Is the city where we live and work by prisoners - rights-guide explained to us Samuel.  Is it at first glance seems vulnerable, in fact this city is so strong, invisible, protective wall, through it and the fly does not slip.

Arthur grunted skeptically in response to this statement. Too ancient seemed to him the city. But he didn't say anything back. He's just a guest here, an alien tourist, nothing more.

After another half an hour, our plane went to land on some island, covered with an unfamiliar view of vegetation with huge leaves of beige color.

At the sight of this splendor I immediately woke up "hunting" passion. I was already rubbing my hands in anticipation of new experiences and findings of materials for my research.

But the biggest shock was waiting for me, as soon as we are on a narrow path passed through these bushes. Before our eyes appeared a meadow where grew a lot of great, previously unseen on other planets colors.

Seeing this glade, I instantly forgot about everything. Many plants were already ready, ripe seeds, which I carefully collected on separate bags. In the same place where the seeds were not yet, I cut the cuttings, hoping that they will take root in our ship's greenhouse.

Being carried away by my favorite thing, I did not notice that from the thickets surrounding this fabulous clearing, I was watched by a pair of wary eyes, and I, frankly, was first frightened in earnest, seeing the face of the beast with a grinning mouth.

I think I even screamed softly, because I saw the men next to me, who flew to the island with me.

Samuel soothingly stroked my arm and said,:

- Don't worry, he's just kind of terrible, and he's actually pretty tame and affectionate. Here, look!

And he waved his hand, and with some guttural sound called the beast to him, and begin to stroke him on the head. A moment later, the face of the beast floated in a pleased smile, and he muttered like an ordinary domestic cat.

I carefully approached the beast and gingerly raised his hand to his head... He opened his eyes and closed them again.

- You can pet him, he not against! - Samuel smiled.

Indeed, the animal did not even move, when instead of our commander's hand I began to stroke it.

When he decided that he had received enough affection from us, turned around and disappeared into the Bush.

Further stay in the clearing passed without incident. The only thing I regretted was that it was soon dark, and we came back to the ship.

I immediately went to the greenhouse and started planting my new plants. When I finished my work and returned to the cabin, Arthur was asleep. I did not Wake him, took a shower and lay down next to him. But full excitement long could not fall asleep.

The next day was dedicated to the training camp in the future, and soon we said goodbye to this planet.
