Rice is the basic food of the Filipinos. Maybe some who are on a diet minimize eating rice food or boiled rice. But for sure, all of us prefer eating rice because we feel satisfied eating together with a viand food. It's like rice is our primary food in every meal and without it, we don't feel full. That's why, after how the typhoon did so much damage to agriculture. A lot of farmers and rice field owners became hopeless. The rice plants that were planted in November have already washed out. The fields were destroyed and it needs a lot of work before rice can be planted again. It can be alarming because only twice a year can rice be planted yearly. Though not all are the same seedlings of rice because other types can be harvested for 120 days. While most rice being planted needs 5 months before it can be harvested. I don't understand the details of why they used seedlings but as far as I know most farmers use the 5 monthly seedlings. Anyway, just a little bit of information about how the farmers planted rice in the country. Added more information, they planted rice in the month of June and if it goes well it will be harvested in October. When I said rice can only be planted twice a year, yes, they will plant it the second time in November. Obviously, it will be harvested in March of course but again depends on the weather temperature. Those are just the information and after learning about it how nice to see rice fields are being occupied with rice plants. A month ago, thankfully, the farmers are slowly recovering from the damage of that typhoon. Even though not all fields are being occupied, it's still a good sign to see green rice fields beside the streets. I don't understand why there are fields that are currently being plowed. I wonder if the rice can still grow well despite the changing weather in the region. From what I saw a while ago, the rice is growing nicely but the question is when to harvest and the weather is still the same. Added more information again, when rice is being harvested it should be placed under the hot sun. This should be done so when it comes to milling the rice being milled will not be wasted. Though it's still edible, the taste will not be that delicious. Also, before the rice is ready to be boiled, its grains should be removed. That's why milling the rice is necessary before it can be cooked. I hope I can share a little bit of information about rice. It may not be helpful or not but what's important is we know some things that are unfamiliar to us. Also, I decided to share it to inspire positive vibes that despite what just happened we are getting better.
