The Facebook CEO **Mark Zuckerberg** has declared a goal each year since 2009. His past challenges included wearing tie every day to work, learning to speak Mandarin and eating meat from animals killed by him. He visited every state of U.S. last year he hadn’t been to yet.

This year he wants to focus on protecting Facebook users from abuse, hate messages and defending against interference by nation states.
Over its failure to prevent Russian operatives from using its platform in 2016 U.S. elections, Facebook has faced criticism. 

Zuckerberg further added that it will be made sure that time spent on Facebook is time well spent.
