A very Happy Christmas or Merry Holidays to all Steemians!

I realise that we observe so many customs and traditions handed down by our elders that oftentimes we may not remember why we are doing some of them. We just adopt these practices and follow through although I must say that sometimes we do improvise to make life easier.

One tradition that we love to keep at Christmas is the Ugly Sweater Contest for our house party. It is terribly fun and the competitors gloriously serious about winning the coveted medal.

Some friends pull out all the stops to create that winning ugly sweater. Christmas trees, chunky Santa cutouts could be sewn or glued to woollen sweaters. Flickering lights are also attached to some of the sweaters to enhance the Christmassy effect.
