.Introductions

Hello steemit community! My name is Tom Wagoner. I’m a life-long drummer and IT enthusiast with an electronics degree I never used. I’ve been a lurker on steemit enjoying the articles. While I’m not your usual blogger type, I am finally going to take the plunge to contribute to this amazing community. I expect you will see me write about my drumming experiences as well as many other musings that entertain my thoughts. I have lots of interests so I hope you find my ramblings entertaining.

.Drums

Like I mentioned, I am a life-long drummer. I’ve been hitting things to make sounds as long as I can remember. I am mostly self-taught but did study a short time under another great drummer. My current musical project is with Plaxton & the Void, an original indie acoustic rock band in the Midwest USA. I’ve had a great time over the past few years working with these guys and challenging my musicianship. It’s been pretty cool meeting new fans while sharing something I love. Some of my most memorable life experiences so far have been while working with these very talented musicians.

Here is my shameless plug for the band. A music video we had done last year to one of our popular original songs. Recording this song was actually my first time in a pro recording studio. I’ll admit, it was a REALLY cool experience! I hope you like it and the music fills your soul.

FYI: We are currently in song writing mode with hopes to record an EP over the coming winter months. If you like what you hear, an up-vote would help me get back into a pro quality recording studio for this next project. Studio time unfortunately is pretty expensive which makes it an expensive hobby.

.Et cetera

Being a musician doesn't really pay the bills. So to support myself, I work as an IT Admin for a small company while also freelancing some programming and web development. In my spare time I’m teaching myself Swift so I can develop some IOS app ideas that I’ve had bouncing around in my head for a few years. Unfortunately my current Mac is really old and gives me grief. So I'm saving up to get a newer model upgrade. Other interests I have include motorcycles, backpacking, computer sciences and technologies. I’ve also been a bit obsessed with the cryptocurrency scene since the early days of Bitcoin. It’s a very exciting time and reminds me a lot of the early Internet. I was a successful BBS sysop during the early 90's and I remember the first time I connected to internet. I was immediately obsessed with this new frontier. I was learning how to connect my users when I ended up accepted a job offer to start-up a local Internet Service Provider with a group of investors. So I remember when the web and email wasn't so friendly. We've come a long way! I have a feeling we'll see blockchain technology progress the same.

Look at that! I have so much to write about and I'm itching to get started.

.Conclusion

So there you have it. Everything you thought you ever wanted to know about me. I look forward to getting to know many of you in the community. Until then; Peace, love and rock on!
