The European Union (EU) is reportedly planning a super computer for research purposes.

Independent launch budget for computer manufacturing reportedly reached 1 billion euros, or about Rp 16.03 trillion.

The funds are used to build two world-class machines capable of processing 1,000,000,000,000,000,000th of a second, and two engines with a first-half engine capability.

After that, the funds are also used to create the largest artificial intelligence ever on this planet.


As well as infrastructure to help move data between member countries.

Vice President of the European Commission for Digital Single Market Andrus Ansip said that the computer is useful in providing predictions for addressing climate change on security issues.

In addition, another goal of supercomputer development is keeping the EU as one of the world's economic axes.

Ansip says from the list of 10 super computers of the world, nothing comes from Europe.

The world's fastest supercomputer predictor is owned by Sunway TaihuLight in China, and has 10 million core. By comparison, a typical computer has only 2-8 cores.

The Independent proclaimed, the top two sophisticated computers exist in China, one in Switzerland, three in Japan, and four in the United States.

Europe does have the most powerful computer, CINECA, which resides in Italy.

However, the device is ranked 15th in the list of 500 advanced machines, The Independent reported.

"Currently, supercomputers are the main motor of the digital economy, which says, the EU lags far behind.

Communist Communist and Economic Commissioner EU Mariya Gabriel added that the presence of super computers will facilitate EU performance in the future.
