**Hello, Hive friends, how's it going?** I just got off work yesterday, and since luckily there was electricity (which is quite a luxury these days), I took the opportunity to sit down and edit some street photos I had taken a while ago in one of Havana's most iconic neighborhoods. That day I was on my way to a photography event (THE RAW SOCIETY), but since transportation was impossible—something quite normal around here—I decided to walk and take my camera with me. The idea was not to focus so much on the architecture, which is spectacular in this area, but to document what I found along the way, with a simpler and more direct approach. We're talking about 23rd Street in Havana's Vedado neighborhood. So... Let's get started! >*Hola, amigos de Hive, ¿cómo va todo? Apenas salí del trabajo ayer, y como por suerte había electricidad (cosa que últimamente es todo un lujo), aproveché para sentarme a editar algunas fotos callejeras que había hecho hace un tiempo en uno de los barrios más simbólicos de La Habana. Ese día iba rumbo a un evento de fotografía (THE RAW SOCIETY), pero como el transporte estaba imposible —algo bastante normal por acá—, decidí caminar y llevar la cámara. La idea no era centrarme tanto en la arquitectura, que por cierto es espectacular en esta zona, sino ir documentando lo que me encontraba en el camino, con una mirada más sencilla y directa. Hablamos de la calle 23 del Vedado habanero. They are not the most comfortable vehicles in the world, but they do the job, especially when you are in a hurry or public transportation is lacking. >*Últimamente, han empezado a moverse unos taxis eléctricos de tres ruedas por esta zona. No son los más cómodos del mundo, pero la verdad es que resuelven, sobre todo cuando uno anda con apuro o el transporte público brilla por su ausencia.* ____________  📝 Vedado was conceived as a middle- and upper-class residential neighborhood. That is why many of its houses were designed by great architects. Some look like real palaces... although sadly, many are now on the verge of collapse. >*El Vedado fue concebido como un barrio residencial de clase media y alta. Algunas parecen verdaderos palacios... aunque muchas, tristemente, hoy están al borde del colapso.* ____________  ______________ 📝 This isn't my usual spot for street photography—I'm more of an old town kind of guy—but I didn't want to miss the chance to show you a little bit of this more modern side of Havana, which also has its charms.
