Unlike the other days when the rain hindered us from reaching the city early to carry out steemit promos, today the weather was clear enough to get us in Kampala early in the morning. Our destination was Makerere University, the biggest university in East Africa with a wide number of local and foreign students. I was joined by @battebilly, @jaraumoses, @yohan2on, @tesaganewton who all came ready to give these learners a feel of the fastest growing social network on the globe; **STEEMIT.**

We were set with steemit cards to hand to hundreds of students to guide them on how to contact us to know more about steemit. The cards also had sites to visit to reach the steemit page and we added a message that could easily be understood in simple language; 'Join for free, Earn Money'. In this way, the cards will move around many students connecting them to steemit and encouraging steemit promotion within their smaller circles of friends.

We reached many students who were eager to learn a new way of making money. For a student who has no source of income yet but depends on small tips from parents, steemit is a venture readily set out for him/her to sustain the needs that come with living independently. They welcomed steemit and the response they gave us showed they were really impressed by making money from social networking.

We were happy to interact with these students who kept all of us active asking us more about blockchain technology and steemit. And the most frequently asked questions coming on how to make and later withdraw money. With the wide knowledge of blockchain technology we've attained on steemit we explained how steem and steem dollars are generated to support the platform and the different exchanges out there to use in withdrawing them. This left them contented with what steemit is offering and they had no other choice than signing up.

Social networking is not going to remain the same among these students. Steemit has shown them the value they have in what they write. The many years spent on various social networks like facebook have been put to waste and we are not going to let anymore people to waste more years on facebook when steemit is open to each of them. The creativity they possess in different fields is going to earn them money as they expose their skills on the platform, thanks to steemit.
