### A Short Story For 26 Thomas

As a child, Thomas was an honest boy. His parents and teachers always taught him to be honest. When his friends at school had no food, Thomas would always give him some of the bread he had. But when Thomas was hungry, Thomas' friends would not give him any bread, even if they had some. But Thomas was still honest and kind.

When Thomas was a teenager, he had a girlfriend. Honest Thomas was unlucky. Because his girlfriend cheated on him with his friend. This time, Thomas felt very bad. He was betrayed by the girl he loved so much. People can share bread, but they can't share love. From that moment on, honest Thomas didn't trust people anymore. He thought that everyone was full of lies. Yes, he had been honest in his life, but people took advantage of his honesty. Then he became a manager at a job. Thomas didn't trust his subordinates. He always oppressed his subordinates, found fault with them. His subordinates were afraid of him.

One day, Thomas had a big problem at work. So Thomas blamed his subordinate, Jeannie. Thomas thought that Jeannie would get scolded by her superiors for this problem. But the superiors punished Jeannie until she was fired. Actually, Jeannie could have blamed Thomas for the problem, but she didn't. She didn't want Thomas to get in trouble for this problem. As she was about to leave work, Jeannie smiled at Thomas and left. It was a smile that Thomas would never forget. Was it a mocking smile? Was it a smile that she knew I was doing? What kind of smile? Thomas couldn't sleep at night. He kept thinking about Jenny. And then he thought about his childhood. Finally, that night, Thomas made a decision.

In the morning, Thomas went to Jeannie's house. He apologized to Jeannie for his mistake. Thomas told Jeannie about his childhood and why he had changed. Jeannie said, "Honesty is at least a medicine that helps you sleep well at night." Jeannie continued. Now I'm fired. I can find another job. But I can sleep with a clean conscience every night for the rest of my life. From that moment on, Thomas promised Jeannie that he would try to be a good manager who was honest and kind.

*When thinking about the story that would go with this NFT card, I believe that Dodgy Managers also have their own reasons for being like this. So I wrote about Thomas, who was honest when he was young but changed as he grew up, and the Jeannie who makes him see his honesty again.*
