This is my post for #freewriters 2208 prompt *the desk at the end of the world* hosted by @mariannewest and @daily.prompt

Once again I did not listen to my gut. Every day that I walked the long hallway in the hotel, I thought to myself, I should take a picture of how long of a walk it is in this hotel. Now we have the prompt *the desk at the end of the world.* I did not have a desk at the end of the world, but after traveling and sightseeing all day it seemed that our room was at the end of the world.

Our room was the very last room at the end of a very long hallway. One day we got back to the hotel late and had not eaten, my daughter asked her phone if there was food near us, and it said there was a restaurant next to the hotel. There was one there, at one time, but it is now closed and looked to have been closed for some time.

I decided to go to our room while she went somewhere for food. I took all that I could carry because she would be carrying food down that long hall. With my arms full I go to the 3rd floor, I walk down the long hallway and my card will not work. I tried it several times and still could not get in.

I then realized that our room was on the 2nd floor. I go back down the long hallway to the elevator, down one floor, and back down the hallway to the correct room, my card worked.
