Hello Steem World. This is something I should have done when I first signed up, but I was so fascinated by the platform that I just started posting right away. I am a financial adviser and retirement planner. I have a bachelor's degree in Economics from Georgia State University and have worked for major pension systems and banking institutions. I am married to the love of my life who is a personal fitness trainer and educator. One thing we both have in common is dance. Our goal is to use this platform to provide sound financial, health, and spiritual information that you can apply in your everyday lives. We have lots of professional and personal experience and are still learning. Hopefully, we can learn from God and the community and we all can succeed together! This is my beautiful wife on an advertisement for her business Zoe Fitness.
**What will you see?**
• Personal Financial Literacy • Fitness Advice • Crytpocurrency Information • Spiritual Motivation
**Short Bio**
I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. A music, food, culture, and murder capital of the world all wrapped into one place. Being born into what was deemed poverty, you can say that I had it pretty rough growing up. After traveling around the world to places such as Johannesburg, Tegucigalpa, Panama City (Panama), Montego Bay, and Havana I can say that I was not poor at all growing up. It was all relative. But growing up in that kind of environment exposes one to all sorts of bad financial decisions and as you grow out of that situation, you realized that there are many mistakes that perpetuate the cycle of poverty. As a young man, I made the decision to change the trajectory of my life by learning about finances. Hopefully, you'll stick around for later posts about travel advice as well. Working at banking institutions showed me first hand that you cannot judge a book by its cover. I saw people pull up in BMW's holding Louis Vutton bags with negative checking account balances. On the other hand, I would see a guy coming in with the same pair of jeans on, flip-flops and an old polo with several hundred thousand in his account. I quickly learned that depreciable assets are not where wealth is store. This is a lesson that has helped change my life and the financial decisions I have made. By no means am I perfect and still make mistakes, but my worth is not tied up into what I wear and drive. Nothing wrong with these things but they are not as important as peace, joy and health. Before I got to this place though I made a bunch of mistakes which I hope to share with you in later posts. I have made just about every financial mistake you can. Payday loans, high-interest credit cards, maxing out student loans, overdrafting my account every week, borrowing to pay off other accounts, 2nd mortgages, 6 year car loans, you name it and I done it. There is a lot of pain and heartache that comes with those choices. Unfortunately, this is the norm for so many of us and because everybody else seems to be doing it, the pain of the sting is somewhat dulled. But I tell you, there is such peace that comes from knowing that the tow truck wont come pick up my car in the middle of the night or that you wont get foreclosed on and you would have to scramble to find a place to stay for yourself and your daughter. You talking about STRESS! I know for sure that I grew a few grey hairs and wrinkles over that stuff. Looking back it's hard to believe that I was in that tornado for so long. Remember him? So here I am now. With a little more wisdom, a married man and a father teaching others how to manage their finances. I work with those with a lot and those with little but behavior is what really determines where one will end up in the long run. I have been fortunate to be exposed to how banking and retirement systems work through my professional experience and what does not work from my personal experience. LOL. So,going forward you'll see personal finance, retirement planning, and investment information including crytpocurrency. Again, my wife and I hope that we can bring you some good information that can have as much of an impact in your lives as it has had in ours. Thanks and God Bless!
