Scarcity vs. Abundance
### Welcome to week 37 of my latest Hive Goals review as part of the Saturday Savers Club. It has been 1 week since my last update. You can check what week it is [here.](https://www.calendar-week.org/calendar-weeks/2022) I like to do this post to keep track of things and measure my progress.

**Scarcity vs. Abundance**

Last week we talked about risk, one of the biggest risks that I didn't mention was the risk of not investing at all. Therefore it is important to learn about saving and investing as early as possible.

Currently, we are going through a bear market and the pessimism and panic spread by the mainstream are at extreme levels. The current system can only survive by making it appear as though there is scarcity.

This couldn't be further from the truth. In our society today there is mass abundance all around us and it's there for the taking. We have never had so many consumer goods EVER, so high car ownership and on and on.

Most companies need to create the impression of scarcity in order to justify charging for goods and services that would otherwise be free. The more scarce, the larger the profit margin is possible. Governments are no different, they are in fact incorporated institutions.

We can see this also play out in the crypto space with BAYC for example. The creation of a limited number of Apes and exclusive access to the BAYC metaverse creates value. More recently on Hive with the release of Riftwatchers and the Promo cards.

Is there a way we can invest to take advantage of this?

In gambling, if you follow the favorite bets in any sport, usually you will lose out long-term over time. This is because the odds offered are lower than the actual returns. Therefore, following the crowd isn't always a good thing. So how can we increase our odds or returns?

One way is to try and buy assets below their market value.

**Slow and Steady Wins the Race!**

Right, let's look at the table this week:

![image.png](https://images.hive.blog/DQmNu2uBZ7wvAmVuQmczwu14d3Y5GWrvQa3JXNCJzqhbYVk/image.png)

I've removed AFIT and Starbits tokens as I'm not sure what I will do with AFIT and Starbits I have already reached my 1 million target and will just keep the same amount, there is no need to monitor it further right now.

My Hive Power increased by 177 this week after I powered up an extra 100 Hive from fiat.

My LEO goal increased by just 3 as I crawl towards my 1000 LEO goal.

My Alive tokens grew by 226 after I increased my delegation to ALIVE.

My CTP goal was reached and now I increase to 30000. The increase was 259 in 1 week, as 2000 I just swapped from ListNerds.

My ListNerds increased by 261 and I now have over 1000 liquid ListNerds but I keep them for the time being as the price seems to low to sell. I actually am thinking to buy if the price goes any lower.

My HBD increased by 17. The weekly interest increased to 3,19 which is a pretty good HBD income to have.

The other goal I reached this week was to pass 50 FUNM tokens. Next I will aim for 100.

Here is the growth in the last 7 days from [hivestats.io](https://hivestats.io):

My author rewards were 82,73 HP this week and my curation 21,11 HP. Overall a pretty good week with over 100 HP powered up.

In the above table with the trailing stats, you can get a better picture of the progress. I have increased to 4588 in terms of reputation and moved to 742 in terms of Hive Power. In the HBD savings category, I actually have fallen back places again, despite increasing my HBD holdings.

It seems HBD paying 20% is very popular and I am thinking to increase my holdings there. Moving up the Hive Power rankings is getting more difficult now compared to a few months ago.
