>The Lut Desert, widely referred to as Dasht-e Lut (Persian: دشت لوت, "Emptiness Plain"), is a large salt desert located in the provinces of Kerman and Sistan and Baluchestan, Iran. It is the world's 27th-largest desert, and was inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List. The surface of its sand has been measured at temperatures as high as 70 °C (159 °F), making it one of the world's driest and hottest places. [Source](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dasht-e_Lut) The hottest spot in the desert, *Gandom Beryam*, is just about 150 km from an oasis near *Keshit*. The water comes from a crack in the ground, flowing through gorge and filling it with life.
