<em><strong>A block down the street we said goodbye... but let me tell you. </strong></em>

As I said it wasn't just a pedalling.

The first thing I must say is how beneficial it was after three days of a bad migraine. The trigger for me getting out of bed was a message from a friend I mentioned quite some time ago in <a href="https://peakd.com/hive-189157/@nanixxx/fpbssmzy">this post</a>. She came on holiday to spend time with her family, who are from Candelaria, like my mother, and sent me a photo with Mamani.

<em><sub>(I laughed because a few days earlier my mum told me that Anilén had sent some donations of medicines and medical equipment to the village polyclinic... I thought of her fondly at the time and wondered when I would see her again... it didn't take long for the Universe to bring us together)</sub></em>


She told me that she would be in Havana one day and that if I felt like it we could meet. <em>-Of course, we could</em>, I replied with great joy and a headache that was killing me. <em>Tomorrow I'll write to you to come and see you because I can't look at this screen right now</em>, I told her.

So the next morning I got up, had my coffee, a light breakfast, a cold shower, put on my cycling outfit and went to the Vedado neighbourhood to meet her. The coolest thing is that I also met her wife and son. It was nice to spend some time with the two of them and the boy who is so witty, cute and very skilled at this game.

He was the winner... no doubts.

We walked to <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Lennon_Park">John Lennon Park</a> looking for a place to have lunch and found this, where card games were after-lunch entertainment.

It was a little further up 19th Street, in a colonial house, with pergolas in the garden and long, rustic tables and long, rustic benches. There we sat down and ordered Cuban food and German beers. The boy had a soda.

We even had feline visitors.

We chatted a lot and my friend updated me on the latest developments in their lives, not without challenges. We know that no one escapes them and I believe that they are alerts and always help us to move forward and correct our course. I was very pleased to see her with her family, happy, in their dynamics, and enjoying the holiday here. They booked this weekend in a Key, in the centre of the Island. I am sure they must be having a great time because these are beautiful and paradisiacal places.

After lunch, as we were relatively close to the Experimental Centre for the Visual Arts, where the Belkys Ayón Gallery is located, I suggested go for a coffee.

If you read my posts, I recently wrote about an International Haiku Contest for children, in a place I didn't know existed.

They have a bohemian café in the doorway, I told them, and they loved the idea.

But she told me I was totally out of the game. We laughed and the memories and conversations kept coming like fresh stream water.
We also talked about my new hobby and curiously two guys from my cycling group came to the café with their bikes. As we were already on our way out, we gave them our table, which we also occupied in the garden.

I didn't have much time to see the Abstract Art Expo, which, as you can see from the poster, opened on 12th July.

The three of us went to have a look at it, very quickly. We even took turns because we couldn't leave the boy alone. I think he liked the place and a lot of the decor strongly appealed to him.

The route back was also pleasant. I stopped at another friend's house, at a bakery to get some bread rolls and avocados from a street vendor. After so much cycling I am always very hungry. I had to get home and cook for myself, Chanel and Yin. At least I already had avocado for the salad. 

I feel that my bike makes my life easier and more adventurous... but this is something that everyone here knows.
