Do not leave your crypto sitting in your exchange account wallets! This is what happens!!! Run an actual node wallet on your PC and keep your money safe! Get a special PC just for running your wallet even! You can pick up a crappy but sufficient laptop that will run multiple wallets at one for 100 bucks! literally! Get a NextBook or something...

Seriously, Don't trust exchanges until we get full blown side-chaining and atomic swaps technology. Us the exchanges but do not leave your crypto sitting there! Withdraw it immediately! Don't play silly trading games trying to save fees!

This was a japanese exchange..

500 million units of a cryptocurrency known as NEM, worth about 58 billion yen, had been taken from customers’ wallets.

Coincheck confirmed that some $524 million worth of digital coins had been stolen—likely making it the largest single hack on an exchange, even outweighing the Mt. Gox breach of 2014.
