# ADA v. Logic and Reason
Remember the hullabaloo recently about Berkeley's 20,000+ lectures? Berkeley was threatened with a lawsuit and subsequently deleted the lectures because they didn't conform to the Americans with Disabilities Act?

Here is a good FEE article on the subject:
[When Equal Access Means Zero Access for All](https://fee.org/articles/when-equal-access-means-zero-access-for-all/)

In summary, a couple people were angered that Berkeley's free online courses weren't all close-captioned and threatened to sue, so Berkeley removed the lectures from YouTube and put them behind a credentials-required wall.

# LBRY.IO
Well, Jeremy Kauffman, CEO of LBRY, decided to mirror the lectures and put them up for [open access online](https://lbry.io/news/20000-illegal-college-lectures-rescued). Isn't the Age of Information great? They're not available to the public yet:
> LBRY early access begins April 2017.

But you can sign up for news updates. This platform seems pretty similar to Steemit, so there might be some great crossover between these two platforms!

# In the news
The Daily Californian published [LBRY public sharing platform uploads 20,000 deleted UC Berkeley lectures](http://www.dailycal.org/2017/03/21/lbry-public-sharing-platform-uploads-20000-deleted-uc-berkeley-lectures/) just today.

And The Daily Standard posted [Thwarting the Grievance-Industrial Complex](http://www.weeklystandard.com/thwarting-the-grievance-industrial-complex/article/2007248).

Go freedom!
