Today just like everyday for the past one month had been a total burst. He cannot believe Richard made him agree to this. Technically, Richard was doing him a favor by getting him the job in the school where he was the Vice Principal but those kids were just pure evil. 
 The timer on the microwave stopped, snapping him out of his thoughts.
Quietly he ate his leftover dinner from last night, three the plastic plate in the trash and went to bed hoping tomorrow would be a better day.

No, definitely not. Infact if he had to conclude he would say today was even worse than yesterday.

*"Would you please turn to page sixty nine of your textbooks"*. No one did a thing. He sighed, finally giving up.
*"Okay, what is it, I've been nothing but nice to you little deliquents since I got here so I cannot just understand why you hate me so much"*.

Jeremy, the guy who thinks he is in charge of the whole school answered,*" it's not like we hate you Mr Davis, we just think you're boring"*.

Boring?. He was not boring. He was the most interesting guy he knew.
Anna, little  miss perfect piped up, *"Our last teacher even though he wasn't a real teacher was really fun, he made me want to come to school everyday, now I just dread seeing your face"*.

Ouch . That hurt. 
He looked round the class, *"You all feel that way?"*. Their silence answered his questions.

*"Okay, this is what is going to happen, everyone get up, push your desk to the side and form a circle with your chairs"*.
*"Why?"*, Nathan, a kid who wore glasses twice the size of his face asked.

*"Because I'm going to tell you just how interesting I am"*

 *"After I graduated from college I didn't know what to do with myself.I was orphaned at a really young age so I didn't really have any one to guide me. One night I drank a little too much and ended up on a ship. No, it was not a pirate ship Jeremy and no more cutting me off. As I was saying, It was a little too late by the time I realized we were already on sea. Turned the people on the ship were  Biological Oceanographs. They studied life in the world's oceans.They sailed from sea to sea, ocean to ocean studying them. I personally had always loved the water. They were in no way happy to see me, one of the guys, Timothy even threatened to throw me off the ship. We were on sea for many days and during that time I watched in fascination as they worked together, laughed and celebrated as they made new discoveries. I had never felt part of something and as they days past, I was included in their celebrations. Few years later, I was a certified Biological Oceanographer. I spent the next ten years of my life sailing the sea. I came across a lot of species of Narwhals, sharks, turtles, dolphins, crabs and I even saw SpongeBob and Patrick, but sorry I didn't have a chance to talk to them"*.

The whole class laughed at that.

*"Did you ever see the Great White Shark"*, Samantha who was the smartest girl in his class asked.
*"Unfortunately, no but I have this"*, he said as he brought out his necklace, it was the tooth of a Cookie Cutter Shark. The only thing he kept from his past life.
*"That's really cool"*.
 
He continued, *"Those were the best years of my life until the fifth of April, 2010. We set sail as usual to check out the usual activity one of our machines had detected on the ocean. There was a heavy storm that night, it swept our ship and we were all thrown into the ocean"*.

*"What happened next"*, quiet Lily asked

*"There were seven of us on that ship and I was the only survivor. I  don't know how long but I floated on a wooden part that broke out of the ship and I finally made it to an  Island. I was so weak and tired and just when I was about to give up I caught sight of something, the Shadow of a man"*.

*"Two years later I'm a highschool teacher to a bunch of nitwits who have dedicated their lives to frustrating me"*.

Everyone laughed at that. The bell rang indicating the start of the next class. They all walked out of the class bit, he heard Anna whisper, *"Maybe I won't drop this class afterwall"*.

 He walked home towards the window of the classroom and closed his eyes sighing, *"He was right afterall, Today was definitely better"*. He opened his eyes and was about to turn around to prepare for the next class when he a saw something near the lamp post outside, a shadow. The same one he had seen over time since that day on the island and he wondered if he would ever meet the man behind it.
