0.000 HBDOBITS Voting Update And Dividend Analysis: Sharedrop and Sharedrop/Buyback Battling it Out

The voting is starting to heat up on the future of the OBITS token, the profit-sharing token of the OpenLedger exchange. If you aren't familiar with the token, read up here. >Holding OBITS entitles you to become a part owner of the bright future that lies ahead of OpenLedger. OBITS owners have an access to share in the profits issued by the organization. Just like a real life business, you will also be entitled to cast votes on key decisions made by the issuer. Buying OBITS is the equivalent of buying an early stake in a ground-breaking technology company. Let's dig deeper into each of the leading options.

100% Sharedrop Example (90% BTS, 10% BTC) --- OpenLedger overall profits amount to 1000 bitshares. Let's say I own 5% of all OBITS. I am given 45 BTS (90%) and 5 BTS worth of BTC (10%). Pros: Immediate income Cons: Underlying asset may not appreciate due to no buyback 50% Sharedrop / 50% Buyback Example --- OpenLedger overall profits amount to 1000 bitshares. Let's say I own 5% of all OBITS. I am given 22.5 BTS and 2.5 BTS worth of BTC. OpenLedger would buy back 25 BTS worth of OBITS and burn them. Pros: Immediate income, underlying asset can appreciate slowly Cons: Fewer dividends compared to 100% Sharedrop --- I looked the historical profit averages from Open Ledger and the current supply of OBITS and did some napkin math. If the 50/50 model is implemented each OBITS you hold you would receive around .1 BTS and 300 satoshi. If profits stay the same, the dividends should grow each month as buybacks lower the supply of OBITS. If you plan on being a long-term holder of OBITS, I think that the 50/50 option is the best. You receive some dividends and your OBITS will gain power due to the burning each distribution cycle.
