Muchas personas que se inician en el mundo del ajedrez llegan centrados en la idea de que *el Rey y Reina* son las piezas que más valen y en cuanto a valor no están equivocados, pero, quien tiene un camino recorrido en este deporte entiende que los peones son tan importantes como los monarcas y es que un peón a punto de coronar se vuelve tan o más valioso que un caballo, alfil o Reina. El ex campeón del mundo *Mijaíl Tal* maestro de los sacrificios decía *"primero se sacrifica la Reina luego las Torres seguidamente Alfiles y Caballo y por último los peones"*, dando importancia a estos soldados en la primera línea de batalla, de hecho si en una partida te destrozan la estructura de peones tú Rey queda expuesto y posiblemente sea masacrado por las piezas enemigas. La partida que escogí para demostrar esta teoría es una partida que protagonizó el gran *Bent Larsen* jugando con blancas frente al campeón de ese entonces *Boris spassky* quien con las piezas negras demostró su cálculo y profundidad y ganó esta partida con su peón de Torre específicamente el de *h7* veamos la siguiente posición

En este punto *Larsen* juega *h3* atacando el caballo de *g4* pero *Spassky* hace caso omiso a esta amenaza y juega *h4* porque profundiza en la idea de que ese peón va a ganar la partida aunque le cueste el sacrificio de su Torre de *h8* y su caballo de *g4*, finalmente ese peón termina convirtiéndose en un auténtico monstruo, les invito a disfrutar de esta joya inmortal.
