<div class=text-justify>I was back from travel this week and despite most of the discussion around the ecosystem being about the potential changes to the economics and algorithms here, there was plenty going on with new users introducing themselves to the community!  I have seen a pickup in introduction posts and while not all are deep and engaging, I think they are serving the purpose of being social and seeking to become part of communities here in the ecosystem.  Quality continues to be a discussion that means many things for different people; even I have held to some standards when curating these introduction posts.  However, I really think that it does not really matter as we compare the content to other social media platforms we see.<p>
 
I seek introductions that are genuine and that have the potential to foster that account to remain active and engaged with the community as they explore ways to onboard themselves into communities within the ecosystem.  By associating themselves with these communities, I believe we have the potential to improve retention and well as engagement which are key to delivering long term value for the ecosystem which will attract more projects, communities and users.  I am encouraged by the potential that continues to build around the ecosystem to expand our social capabilities beyond just blogging as we have been seeing over the last year.  Communities will continue to find ways to leverage the capabilities of the protocol to add value to our relationships and to the ecosystem in general.

@jaycee1729 had a fun [introduction](https://busy.org/@jaycee1729/ahoy-let-s-get-started-who-am-i-let-s-find-out-me) as she split her life into “ME” categories and led us down a sense of her life in the Philippines.  She has a passion for photography but wants to really finish an education in Computer Engineering as she has become interested in the different programming languages available to develop on the web.  She also has had experience in a sporting competitive landscape as she competed in table tennis in school.  She believes that the discilpine has helped her learn things not available by any book or classroom.

@stnight99 is a young programmer from the Philippines that mostly works on web applications and web development.  He [introduced himself](https://busy.org/@stnight99/hello-world) sharing his hobbies of enjoying Anime and playing Role Playing Games on his PS4.  He has listed some classics on his favorite which I was able to relate with!  He expects to share tips on programming and game with the community here on Steem.

@badcrypto recently [introduced themselves](https://busy.org/@badcrypto/we-are-travis-and-joel-of-the-bad-crypto-podcast) after finally getting a Steem account.  This introduction excited me as I am a fan of their podcast as I often listen to it at the gym or while I travel.  They have a consistent flow of content and am encouraged by their presence here and the potential it could bring to gathering community around crypto and Steem as well.  I hope their experience here helps them promote the great community and ecosystem we have built.

@mcpelcman12 had a brief [introduction](https://busy.org/@mpelcman12/brand-new-e0m8mpzt) but caught my attention as he was attracted here to Steem by another great Steemian @blewitt whom I have been following for a while as we shared common interest in the comic book universes that have caught the movie world by storm over the last couple of years!  Given the success of these blockbusters, many have started to build communities around them which brings me back to when I was young and collecting comic books.  Matthew has similar interests as he has been considering starting here in search of common communities to share with.

@wwwiebe put a great [introduction](https://partiko.app/@wwwiebe/new-to-steem?referrer=newageinv) that allowed is to get to know him and his career and passions.  By day he is an IT Consultant focusing on process improvements and automation and by night he is the creative dad that is inspired to create things like photography, stories and even games!  He incorporates both being a self proclaimed geek as he enjoys working on IoT devices with his son which has included a raspberry pi solar powered crypto miner!

I hope this to be an evolving process to the benefit of the community so please continue providing feedback to support these and all the new users coming to the platform.  I am looking forward to more new users coming and engaging with the community to solidify the social aspect of the #STEEM blockchain.
