Yesterday, I attended a birthday party of a close friend, and what I saw made me realise that money is a dangerous weapon in the hands of most people. Some people are wild when they possess money, but when they are without money, they put up a new character entirely. I, therefore, came to the summation that some people are better off without enormous money because if they do, they might end up indulging in some unwholesome acts.  Money is a good servant but a bad master. Anyone who let the love for money get hold of him, such a person, is gone forever. Some of the crimes committed in our society are indeed a result of money. Many are into hard drugs, prostitution, among others, because they have the money to pursue those lifestyles. Some persons have lost their lives as a result of having money in abundance; hence, they have become dangerous to society. At a simple birthday party, I saw waste and unnecessary spending of money. This is the money that can start a good business for my friend but he decided to recklessly spend it. I believe that in the coming days, he will be out of funds and will be looking for whom to lend some money.


Meanwhile, money in the hands of the wise appreciates. Just as arrows in the hands of the mighty.  What it set out to achieve will certainly be achieved because much effort and hard work will be put into it. A wise man knows that money, if not properly taken care of, can vanish away in a split second. Hence it is wrong for a man to allow money to be his master. Whenever money rules a man, he becomes a servant to it and it can eventually ruin his life. Be the man who takes charge of money and not the other way around. Ensure that you know what to do with money before it arrives. Never allow money to take you unawares. Many people who spend money recklessly do so because they do not have a plan for such money. Arrows in the hands of the mighty do great exploits when they are released. A hero throwing his arrow has a target, and such a target must be hit because he has gathered much experience and training. He takes his time to aim at the target. The same tactics are required of a man with money. He must be strategic and must take his time to understudy his target before he aims at it and before releasing his money into any investment.

It will be difficult for money to suddenly vanish from the hands of those who are prudent with money, but for those without knowledge, money is like a gaseous element that dissolves without knowing where it goes. Just like arrows in the hands of the mighty, money should also be the same in our hands.
