 The next morning, after making the walk by myself for the first time in a long time, I did not go walking. I wanted to go, but it had been raining, was still sprinkling and the ground was really wet. As I have gotten older, I get sick a lot easier, so I try to not do things that could make me sick. FYI: It did start raining again at a time that I still would have been out walking. I’ll get out there again, in the morning. Hopefully, I will be able to get out around 5 am. Then I can be finished before that sun starts peeking out from behind the clouds and starts to make things a bit hotter and more humid. I did have to go out and get some money today. The money came in yesterday afternoon, but if you read my last post, you know that I was in no condition to go get the money. Besides, my Xoom was doing a security check. It was taking too long and I laid down and fell asleep. Again, if you read the last post, you know why. When I woke up, it was still doing the security check. I thought that was bogus, so I reset it. It worked fine after that. By then my wife and I just figured I could get the money this morning because we didn’t need any for yesterday evening. I flagged down a tricycle, as I normally do, to take me to get the money downtown. I gave the driver P50, which is two and a half more than the normal fare. I do that because I have a big butt and take up a lot of space. Anyway, normally after I do that, I go on my way and so does the driver. Today, he waited for me. I guess he figured that waiting for me that short time would be more beneficial for him than ‘maybe’ finding another 2-5 people to pick up to make the same amount that I pay. I say 2-5 because if someone is only riding downtown to downtown, then they only pay P10. Anyway, he brought me back home and he got another P50. He looked pretty happy with that. I think it also helps the drivers remember me and they will not be hesitant to pick up someone as large as I am if they know I pay extra. I think that even after I lose my weight, I will still pay the extra though. Right now I’m here on my computer typing this and will go back to playing my game “Around the World in 80 Days”. I’m on the final day of my 68th journey. I believe I have 35 million + points and 279 extra lives. I’m still trying to see if it will roll over to 100 million points or start over at zero. Plus I want to see if it will go to 1000 lives or start at zero again. I might take another year of playing to get to either one of them, but I hope to be around to see it. I do need to get over to Mango to pay my bill. I have no idea how much it is but I’m guessing less than P6k. I’m going to bring P6k with me and if it’s more, well I can pay that tomorrow. I’ll be there tomorrow anyway. I probably won’t be going on Monday because I will be up very early on Monday to watch football on the computer. Hopefully both my Texas teams can win during the same week this time. I’m going to head to Mango. I’ll be right back. I’m back. My bill was almost P5k. I thought I brought P6k, but it was only P3k. I counted 6 500 bills and counted that as 6 1000 bills for some reason. Oh well! I’m going back there tomorrow anyway for Games Day. I still owe almost P2k, so I just added one more beer to it. It’s still just under P2k. I removed some chicken n’ dumpling from the freezer to thaw out to eat for supper tonight but I don’t think I will be eating. I must have eaten too much for lunch and I’m still feeling it. It’s okay. I’ll put the chicken n’ dumplings in the refrigerator and I’ll have that tomorrow for lunch or supper. Nening went to pay all my bills and pick up my medication today. Most of the money I received today is almost gone. It’s fine. This paycheck is the one I use to pay all the bills. The next one (this time on Oct 3rd) is the one I use to sustain us for the rest of the month. Although the check on the 3rd is the one that I must use to get our extensions so we can stay here for another 6 months. Something I don’t normally need to do but because of Scoot Airlines and my wife not really wanting to travel, I’m pretty much forced to do so. Hopefully next April (in 6 months) things will be more settled, and we’ll have a better plan. A plan that involves not having to leave at all, if we don’t want to. Although I still would still like to get back to Texas, at least for a month or so. That’s all I have for today. It has you up to date through 30 September, although this probably won’t post until October 3rd. I should have some new posts scheduled by the time you are reading this one. I am a Texan that has retired in the Philippines. I moved to the Philippines with my wife back in May 2010. I am retired from the US Air Force. The music I like is mostly Classic Country and Classic Rock. I guess you could say that I am “Classic”. I play dominoes when I can find someone that will play, I play chess, cribbage, spades, hearts, Empire Builder, Rail Baron, Acquire and a few other games. I like to write poems and stories (although pretty novice) and I love learning about history, just about any history.
