Every business is unique and therefore might have unique needs. There are lots of things a business needs especially at the early start up stage. The early stage of every business is critical and most people want to get it right the first time. Some wonder what they really need to get their business up and running in no time.

Whatever your confusion is, I would like to clarify that you cannot have everything your business need before you can start up. Also, its not compulsory that you have enough money to start big. However, there are things that your business compulsorily needs no matter how much or how little you have. They include the following;

**Brand Identity**: This is what your business or brand is identified with or known as. When starting up or running a business, the identity of your brand at any point in time is crucial to the state of the business at that particular time. Brand identity is the first most important requirement for a business startup.

**Market**: Is a business without a market even a business? Before start up, it is crucial that the intending entrepreneur makes market research to find out if there are people who need what you’re offering and how much of what you’re offering is needed. If you intend to start up a business which isn’t targeted at solving an existing problem, then you’ll probably be the seller and the buyer of your product or service until you finally wrap up with dignity, I hope…. Lol

**Consistency ability**: As you’re putting things in place for your current business need, keep it in mind that consistency is what will ensure that you stay in business for a long time. I’ve seen people start up a business because they got their hands on a raw material at a particular time of the year. Initially everything was going smoothly until they realized they could no longer lay their hands on the amount of raw material required to meet up with demand. If you don’t want that to be you, you know what to do… **PROPER RESEARCH!**

**Integrity**: In business, especially during the early stage, customers trust is very vital to success. Its customers trust that ensures their patronage and keeps you in business. How do you earn their trust? Research what your customers really want. No assumptions. Tend to your customers’ needs always and keep at it. Note that this might be very different from what you think they should need, hence, the importance of customer research and evaluation.

**Flexibility**: This is the willingness and ability to adapt to change. Change in market, change in customers behavior, change in government regulations etc. There are lots of changes that come up in the process of running a business. Your ability to adapt and grow with these changes earns your customers trust even more!

All the points listed above are abstract. One might ask, what about the physical things a business need for both start up and continuous running of a business. The truth is; the physical tools a business might need depends on the business niche. Like an automobile business may require a warehouse, a restaurant business might not. If you’re an intending entrepreneur, pick a niche, then you would figure out the physical tools or structures or machineries you need as you go.

Like I said earlier, you don’t necessarily need to start big to start at all. Take you time, one step at a time. Start at a place first and make effort everyday to improve on what you have. Few months to a year down the line, you would be surprised at how far along you’ve gone and how much you’ve been able to achieve. The experiences will teach you sometimes the knowledge you might not find anywhere else.

**Alright guys.... There you have it!**
