## I Couldn't Believe It!
##### Today, while checking in to various news and social media channels, I saw I Tweet from another guy like me, just a guy that is trying to stay up to speed in the crypto space. The Tweet was talking about Tweets as #NFT's. At first, I thought he was joking, and then I looked into it. Sure enough, celebrities are now selling "Tweets" as "Collectibles" at a site called [Valuables By Cent](https://v.cent.co/)...
## NFT's in General
##### For those of you that are new to #NFT's, to summarize, they are more than just "Photos" or "Gifs" or Graphics in a game. They are in reality, blockchain *Assets* or smart contracts, meaning they cannot be forged, or reproduced, without it being known. When they are produced, or minted, NFT's can have attributes that are passed on during future sales, like forwarding a percentage of the sale in perpetuity. They can also be controlled in other ways. For example, when produced, an NFT can have attributes coded into the smart contract that limit the number of that *Schema*, or run, that can be produced, effectively limiting the number available for sale, and therefore the value. They can also perform functions, and often do so in some of the gaming ecosystems that are now being developed.
## Gaming
##### I have posted several times about HIVE game [CryptoBrewMaster](https://www.cryptobrewmaster.io/game/invite?ref=8c67728c0d92475c9fd421f96a1503e7&code=AlphaBonus), and how much fun it is to play, but perhaps I have not stressed enough that soon, #CBM will be transitioning from a "Game" into an "NFT Based Game." Basically, the game is in a form of "pre-sale" right now, as you are able to buy the cards with HIVE and other cryptos. After the upgrade, it is safe to presume that some things will no longer be for sale within the game, and will only be available from the players that were involved pre-launch. The currently in alpha testing space colonization game [Exode](https://exodegame.com/?ref=790e9e1) is an example of another game with this type of smart contract. The game has *Colony Drop Contracts* that can only be bought in the market now, as the game no longer sells them (Of course the first thing I did when I found out about them) that provide a "Shipment" of supplies to your colony on a set schedule that can change in updates.
## Smart Contracts
##### The attributes of an NFT can also are really limitless at this point, for example, in the upcoming [Splinterlands](https://splinterlands.com?ref=nobutsd1974) update, the land NFT Smart Contract will allow the owners to produce other assets that they can then sell on the market. In other words, income. There are several examples of NFT's being used in games the same way Like the above mentioned *Colony Contracts* in Exode, and the "Land" that was sold pre-sale in #HashKings
## Art & Collectibles
##### One of the simplest uses, in my opinion, for NFT's is to use them as a certificate of ownership, like for example, for a painting. When you begin to talk about owning a "Tweet," in my opinion, you are really stretching the realms of what can be seen to have value, and again, in my opinion, you devalue the world of NFT's in gerneral. Yes, I can see where this can be seen as a publicity stunt to bring awareness to the NFT "World," but at the same time, is it realistic to say that proof that you own the words that Jack Dorsey typed on a certain date? I mean, I just cannot stretch my brain into seeing how that can possibly have value. I could see if it was a sweet poem or something that you then had the rights to, but really? According to the *Rolling Stone* article, all the Tweet says is “just setting up my twttr." Currently, the bidding is at 2.5 Million. This really is the closest I have seen crypto come to the "Tulip Craze" that others have referred to it as.
## Opinion
##### Personally, I started out blogging four years ago when this was Steemit. I began to get active again recently, and right after, I got phished. I took it as a lesson and educated myself better, then started a new account. I moved a majority of my digital assets to #HIVE, and have gotten invested quite a lot into the various NFT's that are available here. I have a City that is providing #SIM every day and a Fantasy Soccer team made of players, that alas, are not doing so well this season, but can be sold as NFT's on the market in [Rabona](https://rabona.io?ref=nobutsd1974). Of course, there are the NFT's for the [Rising Star](https://www.risingstargame.com?referrer=nobutsd1974) game, and you do receive various tokens for playing there as well. It is yet to be seen what type of ecosystem develops around that economy, however. Perhaps you will be able to book major venues and make big cash with the right contract at some point. My point is, there is a potential value there, now, when you attempt to say you somehow "own" words that have no value after they have been said, I mean, I told you what the Tweet says, and when he said it, how is it valuable anymore?
## Conclusion
##### In my opinion, "Hype-Style" activity like this "Selling Tweets" by "Influencers," and "Celebrities," is what causes the slow down of mainstream adoption of crypto. The majority of people continue to have a limited understanding of what Crypto Currencies even are, let alone all of the functions that can be executed with the technology. Again, in my opinion, just because something can be done, does not mean it should be done. I would be willing to bet that although the future of NFT's is very bright, this idea for the usage of it is not. Again, if it were a copy writable phrase or a poem or piece of art, I could see where it would have value, I cannot see how trying to say you own a "fact" (i.e. So and so Tweeted and said this at so and so time) can in any way be not only profitable but also a waste of time.
## I feel sorry for whoever bid that 2.5 Million...
