Good evening hivers here I am again with a place to show you, my hometown I noticed always reserves magnificent surprises, hidden corners, different alleys, new places in incredible and magical, this weekend we made a night visit to the bell tower of Pistoia, they often do this event when spring and summer approach but it is a rarity because for most of the year the bell tower is closed to the public, I had already seen this city in the evening but never from above and the experience was magnificent, I'll tell you a little about the bell tower! Dating back to the thirteenth century it is adjacent to the cathedral of Pistoia, the cathedral itself is a magnificent place to visit during the day, a Romanesque style cathedral like other churches in the city dedicated to San Zeno, I have probably already made posts about this place in the past having entered it several times when I worked nearby. It is thought that the tower dates back to a period before the Middle Ages and was later renovated. In fact, it has a different style from both the cathedral and the baptistery.

You access the bell tower that obviously overlooks the magnificent cathedral square via steps that lead to the ancient center of the bell tower, a stone work and I confess that the first stretch is certainly not suitable for claustrophobics, luckily during the climb there are some mullioned windows that let you see the outside both the side in front of the bell tower and the side, overlooking the beautiful baptistery in two-tone marble, also called the zebra baptistery and the slightly less beautiful bank. Obviously as you climb the view of the city becomes more and more beautiful, and you can see the inside of the bell tower with the ancient bells now almost in disuse, the bell tower is about 70 meters high and there are a lot of steps, better than taking steps. But it is worth it because as you can see the night view from the top is magnificent, it seems like a much richer and more beautiful city seen from above and has a magical lighting, the view extends to other areas of the city and in the evening it is truly unique. They should do these visits more often to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy this magnificent view! I had already been there a few years ago but it is every time a beautiful surprise of beauty!
