Day of rest

My last post suggested that the weekend be planned out a bit as to some chores that need doing. It happened in the sense that a plan was considered. The priority was mentioned to be the engine maintenance which was overdue.

Anything surrounding boating requires pre-planning with Plan B's at the ready. To conduct the maintenance chore while at a mooring seemed to be tempting fate. If something were to go amiss or an engine part required, then to be at mooring with an engine that could not be used due to working on it seemed like a very vulnerable situation to me.

So a decision was made to hold off on the project until at dock; hopefully Zwicker's Warf. It could wait for tomorrow, as today was cold and rainy with Makina being dry and cozy. A Day of Rest was declared.

Might consider a change of nickname to The Lazy Old Seadog. ;)

So what to do on a day of rest? Gaming of course! Ashes of Creation has been a game of interest to me. That may be an odd way to define it, yet it is in Alpha testing and has just gone through its first character wipe, so its rebuilding a character time.

My decision was to stay with the Ranger type that had been my main character type before the wipe.

Being a Ranger it seemed appropriate to hone his mining and herb gathering skills, being an outdoor kind of guy. In that regard it turned out being a very productive day making Apprentice Level (10) in both mining and herbalism. This makes more types of plants and minerals available to the character.

To top that off Character Level 10 was reached; which means that citizenship could be taken in one of the Town Nodes on the map. It has a number of perks but one that is very handy is to be able to get more storage for ones items from harvesting and mining.

It was not engine mechanics yet in the world of gaming, it was a fairly productive day. Fun too.

Hopefully the morrow will have me getting my expected package at the post office and bringing Makina to dock or at least reserving a space if none are available. After some engine maintenance Mahone Bay awaits exploration!

Had a call from James, who regular readers may remember as my neighbour over the winter at the wet berth at Armdale Yacht Club. He is planning on heading out for Bermuda the beginning of June and may drop down to Lunenburg on route to raft at my mooring for at least a night.

It would be great to see him off on his great adventure.

But until then...
