In life, we hear a lot of phrases and statements, especially when we are faced with certain situations. But the truth is, most of these statements are just made to handle and control the moment. At times, they are simply comforting words to help people feel better. While some of these statements sound nice, soothing, and comforting, there are a few of them that I honestly do not agree with. Let me share a couple with you.

🖊️ **Forgive and Forget**

Hahahahaha! I laugh out loud anytime I hear this statement. While I agree that forgiving is powerful and necessary for healing, forgetting is not that easy, and in fact, forgetting is not even wise.

Remembering helps us learn, set boundaries, and protect ourselves from potential harm. Take for example a toxic relationship where one partner threatens the other with a knife or any sharp object whenever they are angry. One day, the person either mistakenly or knowingly uses that sharp object to injure the other, then comes back later to apologize.

Now, while it is good to forgive for your own peace of mind, it is also wise to always remember who you are dealing with and what they are capable of. This awareness can help you avoid being a victim again or even getting killed one day by that same toxic partner.

Remembering doesn’t mean holding on to pain. It means you have learned from your experience. It helps you set boundaries, either to let that person go or, if you choose to stay, to be extremely careful and watchful. So to me, forgiving is a big YES, but forgetting? Hahahahahahaha! I don’t think that’s realistic. So I honestly don’t agree with that statement.

Some people may say, “Give it time, you will be totally healed.” While I don’t dispute that, it is always worthy to note that time might heal, but the scars will always remain. And once you see the scar, you will definitely remember what caused it.

🖊️ **The Customer is Always Right**

Ahahahahaha! While it is true that businesses and service providers should treat their customers with professionalism and respect, it is also important to note that customers should also be well-behaved and reasonable in handling issues.

Yes, I understand that the phrase is meant to promote good customer service, but we should not forget that customers are human beings, and humans can be wrong. They can act rude, emotional, and sometimes even unreasonable.

Take for example how some parents behave when they come to school to report an issue. Since parents are technically customers in the educational setting, does that mean they should insult teachers or act disrespectfully toward the school management? No!

So personally, I think the customer is not always right. It’s good to be respectful on both sides, but let’s not pretend that customers don’t sometimes cross the line.

Let me stop here for now till further notice. You can add yours in the comment section. What are some popular statements that you don’t agree with.
