The Kulu Swimhunter is a new Chaos Legion card for the Water Splinter that is a decent range attacker. While I prefer to use magic and melee attackers for the Water Splinter, sometimes, I do mix things up a little by using a range attacker. ## The Rules and My Lineup *Equalizer, Earthquake - 58 Mana Cap* Equalizer coupled with Earthquake is an interesting ruleset. On one hand, you might need to take 2 damage each round if you don't use a flying creature but on the other hand, you benefit by having your lower health cards get a bump in health. So my strategy for such rulesets is to use flying creatures as much as possible so that there is no penalty. You can [watch my battle at this link](https://steemmonsters.com?p=battle&id=sl_1a524be5f58917c5ccfb97f65845dec8&ref=numpypython). **Summoner:** Kelya Frendul for the speed and shield boost **Position 1:** Ruler of the Seas to do explosive magic damage **Position 2:** Ice Pixie because it flies and gets a big health boost **Position 3:** Sea Genie because it flies and again gets a big health boost **Position 4:** Phantom of the Abyss because of its speed, flying and evading ability not to mention heavy magic damage **Position 5:** Gargoya Devil because it can fly and attack from the front with range attack **Position 6:** Kulu Swimhunter to mix things up with the range attacks and also because it will get a decent health boost ## Was my strategy effective? Overall, I would say that the strategy was pretty effective. Having lots of flying creatures helped to not get any Earthquake penalty each round. Also, by mixing things up a bit using range attackers as well, I was able to avoid getting stuck by my opponent's use of the shield and void abilities. ## What would I do differently? Personally, I might have gone with a stronger tank than the Ruler of the Seas up front like a Sea Monster but I was afraid that I would be giving my opponent too much of a boost. The Kraken would have been too much as well. So a Sea Monster would have been perfect but you can't know that before hand. ## Thoughts on the Kulu Swimhunter The Kulu Swimhunter helps to mix things a bit with the Water Splinter which can be a bit magic heavy initially. 2 range damage for a level 1 monster is pretty darn decent and at only 4 mana. While it doesn't have the most health, it is decently fast and does good damage for the cost.
