The Padma River is basically the name of the lower channel of the Ganges, and more specifically, the Ganges and Yamuna mangahas together in the Goalanda Ghat are called the Padma. The river is known as the Padma from Ganges in Bangladesh (Manakosha and Durlawpur Union of Shibganj upazila under Nawabganj district). This name (Padma) is used till the source of the Bhagirathi branch, which is divided from the right bank of the Ganges, and in Hinduism this section carries the religious sanctity of the Ganges. In the case of river land, it is more accurate to call the flow of the Ganges after the confluence with the Jamuna and the next under subspecies of the junction called Padma. Padma is sometimes mistakenly referred to as Ganges. Due to the flow of the Brahmaputra, due to the creation of this river, not only, but most of the time, Brahmaputra-Jamuna plays a greater role in the flow of the river than the Ganges. Padma is 120 km long and 4 to 8 km wide. Most of the important Goalanda-Chandpur steamer route covers the river. The Faridpur canal, the small branch which came out from its right bank near Tepakhola, 14 km away from Goalanda Ghat, Arial khan river has been formed from the right bank in the 50 km depth. Lohaganj canals falling on the left bank of the river Padma in the left bank of more than 14 km, and Kristenagar originated from the other bank branch. Shoshakhal and Nariyakhal have been produced from the right bank below the few kilometers from this place, after which two streams are joined together as a stream of rivers falling on the southern part of Madaripur. 5 km away from Sureshwar, in a complex complex of transit and grazing water, Padma meets with Meghna. The lower meghna is basically a continuation of the Padma.
