Bitcoin on a satellite...!?
# Must be a prank, right?
_Then I read about it and it looks to be genuine!_

## Hey, [Adam Back has returned](https://blockstream.com/team/adam-back/)!
**Proof Of Work {POW} mining was not invented by the legendary (group) 'Satoshi Nakamoto'. No, it was in fact already used in something called [HashCash](https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Hashcash). This has nothing to do with a marijuana product by the way. Adam Back invented Proof Of Work HashCash in 1997, it was ment as a counter measure against email SPAM, anti-DOS attacks, general Network abuse, flooding and so on. Basicly it ment before an action could be done a puzzle needed to be solved, by a complex mathematical proces called 'hashing'. Where the outcome needed to have a certain amount of zeros up front of the solution. This would take a certain amount of processing power and time. Creating a kind of value in the proces. Or making it expensive to send bulk SPAM email. Cause every email address needed a new puzzle solved it could take days to send just a 1000.**

Now, who adopted this procedure and added it to a blockchain database construction that brought Bitcoin to life is still a mystery. Although there have been claims lately that someone from the _Bitcoin Unlimited_ group is 'the one' or was the part of the group 'Satoshi Nakamoto'. But it could have well been Adam Back or he was part of the group too. There is a small chance we will ever know and maybe it is actually unimportant. Sometimes a legend just needs to stay a mystical figure. These days [Adam Back is part of the Blockstream company](https://blockstream.com/team/) that is funding the [Bitcoin Core](https://bitcoincore.org/) developement. There is much to do about this involvement and calling it controversial would be an understatement. It looks like there is still a war going on in the Bitcoin realm. And since I watched a few videos, pointed out to me by a good friend, from the _Bitcoin Maximalist_ [Craig S. Wright](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craig_Steven_Wright), I think getting the banks in, supporting government bounty hunting and especially patenting blockchain technology is a bad idea. (No matter who ever he claims to be...)

## They WUT...!?
When I digged more into this Bitcoin split thing, where one camp accusses the other from getting the government in for example, I just had a look at what the plans were. And at the moment where I saw and heard mister Wright, a self acclaimed _Bitcoin Maximalist_ (Cash and Unlimited versions) explaining _off chain_ transactions I was a kind of stunned. What he decribed and did not deny, was side chaining... But wait a minute, was that not supposed to be the evil thing? The longer I watched the his presentation the more suprised I was. What ever this _Bitcoin Maximalist_ was accussing the _Bitcoin 'SegWit' Core_ team of, he wanted to do himself. In his typical dominating manner he let the audiance know that is the banks would be the ones to have super nodes, than he would support that. What? Did he just state that the banks are coming in, when he and his developement team get in control over Bitcoin developement...!? Yes, it was told like: "Deal with it!" Even almost threatning with patents and lawsuits... Do not know what is going on there, but to me it does not look a healthy developement for the Open Source spirit of Bitcoin and its offspring.

So I had to have a look at the other developement, the _Bitcoin 'SegWit' Core_ version. Blockstream wants to do things Open Sourced, no patents claim. No stating that they want to help government bounty hunters and get the banks in. And yes, talk about sidechains, as a future developement. Put some Bitcoin in a sidechain, and have it out in Steem in that blockchain. And the other way around. Looks a lot like [COSMOS](), a [Tendermint]() developement. It looks like _Core_ is broadening its horizon. While some _Bitcoin Maximalists_ are behaving like fanatics and I had the pleasure of being confronted with some of them. As if there can be only _one_...? In all the videos I have watched from the _Maximalists_ corner of the arena I came accross a lot of contradictions. That made me move back to _Bitcoin 'SegWit' Core_ to have a look at Blockstream. And I was pleasently suprised to see the name of Adam Back there. Because in a way, he is the one that gave birth to the legend of 'Satoshi Nakamoto'. And as Blockstream supports Open Source, I tend to say, that is the true legacy of Bitcoin, right there!

## Oh and the have some satellites in orbit...
That was a real jaw dropper for me. [Blockstream does have their own Bitcoin satellites in space](https://blockstream.com/2017/08/15/announcing-blockstream-satellite.html)! WOW!!! That to me is mind blowing, talking about the future of Bitcoin? Space, the final frontier, these are the voyages of the blockchain Bitcoin! Why? Because this way everywhere in earth Bitcoin can be used by anybody, without the need of internet. Dear _Bitcoin Maximalists_ how maximal do you want it to be for Bitcoin? It now almost looks like a bit of a sad try for the Bitcon blockchain split enforcers to claim they want the best. Bitcoin really has gone into orbit, while other cryptos joke about going to the moon... Sorry, but I can only be amazed by this. And to me sidechains make sense, this is going to open a whole new world of possibilities. That means new enterprises, jobs and so on and so forth. Also for people that were never able to get a banking account, now can have a crypto wallet, be their own bank, on a sidechain. That to me is the future...

It is there, [a large part of the world is already covered by the Bitcoin satellites](https://blockstream.com/satellite/), did you know that? Well, I did not, until yesterday. And this makes me state that the current marketprice of Bitcoin at _only_ 4444 US$ is still laughable low. When it really gets understood that _Bitcoin_ is actually orbiting our planet, broadcasting blocks, close to world coverage, then this should boost the price of BTC very fast. And it is Blockstream that made this possible, talking about maximizing Bitcoin, I think I know where I put my bet on. With sidechains and more ahead, there will be much excitement in the cryptos realm. Now, I do hope Steem gets its multithreading soon, because there might be a lot of crypto attention coming in soon. There is a huge wave ahead and those who are able to ride it, will come out on top of it. And I have to say in the question to who is the real 'Satoshi Nakamoto' I am getting more and more convinced that it is in fact [Adam Back Ph.D](https://blockstream.com/team/adam-back/). Not that it really matters, and you did not get it from me.

## Have a great one!
