**When SteemIt became like crazy popular recently that seemed to add a side-effect to it. One that you might not connect to popularity at first sight. Because when market demand transcends the offer side, it will, most of the time, create a higher price, a scarcity effect. Logically reasoned this would apply to the price of Steem too. More members, more demand for Steem, so a higher trade price was to be expected. Well, not completely, actually the opposite happened, until recently. Now what is the magic behind that? Or is it still math and logic?** With more Steemers entering the SteemIt field of posting and payouts that also means more retractions of funds. Being it Steem {STM}, or Steem Bitcoin Derivative, sorry Steem Backed Dollar {SBD}, in a short amount of time this would lead to flooding the market with Steem. And somewhere I was ignorent still to believe that only a minority where actually Powering down their Steem Power {SP}, but I was wrong in that. In conclusion, the enormous gain in popularity first boosted the value of Steem toabove the four dollar limit. But as time went on and even more active members came, some very famous ones, as I came to understand. There was a point where a lot of them where selling their Steem. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/84666869/steemit/art/chess/strategy.jpg This might be, as far as I can grasp it, the main reason for a flood of Steem on the market, that at one point got the price on a downslope. But at some point the price of Steem will become interesting enough for investors to get in big time. And it looks like that point has been reached just recently. And now, no matter how much Steem there can be bought at te current market, there will be an upwords movement towards demand growth. And I still believe Steem will get somewhere around $ 2.20 in value, reasonable stable. With the warning that I'm a bad speculator. But, I do trust in Steem and that the value will go up again. And one advantage of a lower Steem price is that it pays to have small amounts of Steem Backed Dollar sold for Steem and to Power that up. That is one reason I do not have turned the Powering Down on. Most extra's and a bit less then half of my Fruit Of Work {FOW} plucking goes towards Steem Power, that will grow on. And specially at times when Steem is a bit too low on in price, that means it is good for my Steem Power growth. It is a future investment in many ways, when I come to think of it. And oh, don't tell anybody I told you this... Chips, forgot, it is transparantly for everybody to see on the blockchain.
