### Phew!!! There's nothing quite like squeaking in just under the wire... I've had this habit since I was a school kid, of pulling something together at the very last minute. I suppose it means I work well under pressure. And, actually, that I like to work on something until I'm satisfied, which sometimes means cutting it way too damn close. And with the deadline for entries into this round of the [Trial by Comics contest](https://steemit.com/trialbycomics/@kommienezuspadt/trial-by-comics-winners-for-pencils-and-new-fundamental-theme-announced) ticking ever closer (about an hour from now) I am breathing a pretty big sigh of relief. lol ## Post edited 02/26 to add some detail shots. This week the theme was open, we just needed to show our inking skillz. And since I've been working toward redoing an old comic book, I thought it was the perfect time to crank out a new pic of a couple of the main characters. I may rename them, but previously they were known as "Lelia", an Earth elemental, and "Gwyn", a Fire elemental. Be on the lookout for plenty more drawings of these ladies, as well as the other characters, as I re-work the comic. Here's a look at the sketch: The start of the outline: A little more ink: And the finished product: Drawn on 11"x17" "paper for pens", with HB pencil, and Micron pens. Oh, and a bit of Sharpie to fill in the cave, since I didn't have all night. lol I actually had a lot of fun with this... I think it's the first time I've sat and done a proper comic book ink job, complete with crosshatching. It was sort of meditative in a way. Looking forward to doing more of these! Here's a couple of close-up/detail shots: Hope you like it! #### Have a great weekend! ## Megan
