This kind of opportunity presented by @swissclive would be a better opportunity to start the campaign. Thank you in advance as you read through my story **How my friend saved me from internet scammers** .jpg) Source : Google Search In year 2006 when I was planning for my final exam in secondary school. I was opportuned to have met with some computer guru who helped me to set up my first email account. They also gave some guides on how to be using it. I was so happy to connect with the world of internet, anybody from third word like Nigeria can understand why I was filled with so much excitement. Since many homes do not have computer system not to talk of internet back then, we all have to visit cyber cafe to perform smallest of tasks on internet. So, my own case was not different from others. Every weekends,i spent most of my time in Cyber cafe to connect with my friends across the world. I was enjoying this new part of me until the day I got a message from someone (I can't remember his name again). He said I have been selected for American visa lottery which I didn't play...smile I tried to be open to him by telling him I don't Participated in any, but it seems he has carried out his researches on me... Smile He told me he got my data from WAEC (West Africa Examination Council),he said he normally sponsor 50 students to continue their education in America every year that I was lucky enough to be included. Who would not want to go to America, as a child it's one of my dream to visit such a great country like America. Now it seems God is granting my wish. I can't contained the feelings in me anymore. But I do not forgot to asked him on how to go about it which he promised to keep updating me about. I rushed out of the cafe without waiting to see our my allocated time. Smile My dad is my first and best friend, I went straight to him and told him everything,i showed him copy of the conversation with this good Samaritan because I did print a copy. He was so happy to learnt that his first son would be traveling to America to further his studies. He called my mum and my other siblings. I could read the joy in their faces,we were so happy as a family that day... Smile I was feeling on top of the world. Trust me, I started speaking American English rather than the British English that is more acceptable in Nigeria, instead of I want to, I would simply say I wanna ... Smile To me, it seems another weekend should come so as to go and read from this good Samaritan. With the motive of impressing my friend (Tunde), I told him about it. He was happy to hear about it, but still with little disappointment in him, because he would have loved to be considered for such a beautiful opportunity as well. So as to help him overcome the disappointment, I promised to come for him whenever I get to America... Smile The following weekend,he followed me to the cafe. As expected,i have gotten a mail from the good Samaritan, he told me my visa was ready that he would be sending it during the week. He asked me if I would like to go and get it in embassy or I would like it delivered to my doorstep. I went for the second option because it appeared easier and again, I still don't know where embassy was as at then, in other to save myself the stress, I asked for it to be delivered to my door step He told me he has packed it already and he has paid every necessary dues for me to get it in embassy, so I have to pay for myself if I want it delivered to my house. I told him I don't know how to go about the payment, he asked if I have bank account so that I can transfer the money to certain account number or if I would pay it in form of reacharge cards (mtn Nigeria was still the most common then). I went for the second option because banks were still limited in Nigeria then. So, he asked me to send five thousand naira worth of mtn recharge card to his number. The curiosity in me does not allowed me to check the number correctly, I rushed to my dad. After explaining everything he gave me the money for the card, by now I was smelling America, singing America, and feeling America ... Smile On our way to where to get the cards, my friend told me he noticed something unusual from the number we were given to send the card. It's a Nigeria number and why would an American collect Nigerian recharge card from us? I was shocked to hear him saying this, yet I picked some sense in hisObservation, so I asked him for a way out. He told me to try him with used cards or we should ask for his personal account details to forward the money. I was afraid to go by his advice because it can put an end to my dream, but I still find them valuable. We used the two methods. I told him I can only get two thousand naira recharge card that he should send his personal account details for me to forward the balance. I was shocked to see an American using first bank Nigeria with Nigeria name on it....smile For him to fill like a winner, we sent him lots of used recharge cards with the note that says "stop scamming people before it ruined your destiny".... Immediately he saw my mail, he blocked me from contacting him If not for my friend that day, I would have lost the money completely. My little advice for all my dear readers, ensure you seek People's opinion in matters you don't understand, you can save yourself a lot of stress doing so. Well, my desire to go to America is still their, but it has to be legitimate,im sure that I would live in the reality of this dream one day ... Thank you for reading through.
