This is unscientific observation from a hobby economist, intended for entertainment purposes only.

> Thailand had been suffering under stagflation wage not keeping up with price inflation and most importantly food prices. To let people make a living wage so politicians like to boast. Minimum wage increased 39 percent in 2012 and 22 percent in 2013. So about 60% in the 2 years and food prices just kept rising before and after this period. Thailand has been run by a military administration since a coup in 2014 and interestingly the food price stabilized after that change. I am no expert on this but just want to show that there are examples where minimum wage don't help.

You see at the end of the day. All things being equal, prices for everything will go up as a result of passing this extra cost to consumers.
The tax brackets are indexed to some inflation number which won't be as high as the minimum wage hike so people at minimum wage will pay more tax, the gov is actually giving itself a pay raise.
Debt base fiat currency is like shares of a company, new shares will dilute the value of existing shares so new currency in the name of easing / expansion is robbing purchasing power from existing currency.

Currency expansion is root cause of the devalue/inflation and will continue. Bogus minimum wage policy don't address this problem will only fuel future inflation till the words Canada Venezuela Zimbabwe and hyperinflation show up in the same sentence.
