#### 13 months ago almost to the day I began mining Dash at home, in addition to mining Bitcoin, which I had been doing since late October 2016.
If you have been following my journey, you know that the block rewards from mining have been falling month after month – which is, of course, something to be expected in this business of ever-increasing hashpower and network difficulty. Two months ago I reported earning **0.075 DASH** in February and March (I publish my mining reports on a bi-monthly basis). The last two months, April and May, brought me **0.065 DASH**. I was considering switching to mining DigiByte instead, but then something happened that brought an end to my home mining experiment.

##
I sold my miner.

A friend of mine and a fellow crypto-enthusiast decided to carry the experiment forward and try to mine different coins on a mini-scale: on smartphones, laptops and small miners like the one I had until earlier today (**Baikal Cube Mini** on the photo above). Just before I left for a summer holiday in Montenegro, I came by my friend’s place and helped him install the miner. He will continue documenting this experiment from where I left off. ###
He will be publishing his impressions and reports on @minimining here on Steem. So make sure to follow him, if you want to stay tuned!

As to my Bitcoin home mining project, you probably remember that in the beginning of this year I switched to mining Bitcoin Cash. Which turned out to be a great thing, because the price of BCH relative to BTC has gone up significantly since then, while the network hashrate – and therefore the rewards – has been kind of stable until the last month. On average I have been earning **0.1 BCH** per month on my mining hardware. The last two months haven’t been an exception: I still made **0.2 BCH** in April and May. These days, however, as temperature outside increased up to almost summer-like levels, it has become harder to keep my Bitcoin miner going without turning my small apartment into sauna. So today, as I was about to leave on vacation, I decided to pull the plug – quite literally in this case. Just like the last year, the miner will be enjoying its summer holiday too. And, as I will be leaving Gävle in July, I would like to sell this machine too. ###
If you live in a place with cheap electricity, this might be something for you!

Let me know if you’re interested in buying my **Spondoolies Tech SP-30** and maybe we will work out a deal.

#### And thus this home mining experiment has come to its conclusion. If you are interested in knowing what will happen next, make sure to follow my friend @minimining. Leave your questions and mining stories in the comments below. In the coming week this blog will be covering my summer holiday in Budva, Montenegro. As always, stay tuned! ;) ____
[](https://steemit.com/qurator/@qurator/qurator-3-0-update-post-guidelines-or-registration-details-or-tier-changes)
