Hey friends of Hive, welcome to my blog. My name is @oluthomas.

For week 286 of Hive Open Mic, with the theme “Wealth”, I sang a song by Apostle Joshua Selman. The song came to him while he was preaching the Word of God, and he titled it “Rest on Me.”

Now, when we look at our theme Wealth and the song Rest on Me, I don’t know if you’re already thinking what I’m thinking. But before you continue reading, take a little time to reflect on the connection between Wealth and Rest on Me. If you could come up with something, then you are truly amazing.

For me, the full meaning I received from this is: “Wealth, Rest on Me.” But it’s not just about wealth resting on me by chance. There must be a source it comes from. And the kind of wealth that adds no sorrow can only come from God. When God decides to give wealth, He also gives wisdom and mind-blowing ideas. Sometimes, you don’t even need to spend money before you begin to walk in that wealth, because God blesses us in many areas: wealth in health, wealth in wisdom, wealth in understanding, and much more.

This song speaks about the wisdom of God and how we can ask Him for it. He is the true owner of silver and gold. All the wealth anyone can ever look for belongs to Him. The devil once tempted Jesus by promising Him all the riches of the earth if He would bow down and worship him. But Jesus knew the truth that only God is worthy of worship, and that the riches of heaven and earth are in His hands. The wisdom and understanding upon Jesus made it impossible for Him to be lured by the devil’s empty promises.

Finally, this is a call for us all to stay connected to God, because He alone gives the kind of riches that add no sorrow. As we continue to put our hope and trust in Him, may the Lord bless us, increase us, and grant us the kind of wealth that brings glory to His name. Amen and Amen.
