It is out of style now, there was the ICO boom recently. I basically think that many of ICOs in the cryptocurrency market are fraudulent. So when deciding on an ICO investment, I consider the development team and the already implemented platform together. BAT (Basic Attention Token) was one of the items that made investment decisions. Of course, I failed to participate BAT ICO.

BAT is a block-chain compensation that operates on the Brave Browser. By default, the Brave Browser blocks all ads, but users can indicate their intention to view ads on particular websites (publisher). When the user sees the ad, the user and publisher get BAT. Of course, BAT is paid by the advertiser.

BAT is on the roadmap of a major update called Mercury-Gemini-Apollo. And **on August 1, according to the development roadmap, they released the first update, the BAT Mercury Concept.** I am glad to know that the development team is consistently developing.

BAT Mercury has two goals.
1) Apply BAT wallet to Brave Browser
2) Change the payment method from bitcoin to BAT

Until now, bitcoin is used as a payment method, but since Mercury update BAT will be used.

In Gemini update, they apply the actual ads to form the BAT ecosystem. In Apollo update, they extend the BAT ecosystem to other platforms besides the Brave Browser.

Under the command of Brendan Eich, all development is proceeding as planned. It is noteworthy that the BAT ecosystem can make a new paradigm shift in the current situation where ads are perceived as unnecessary for Internet users.

BAT Mercury는 두 가지 목표를 가지고 있습니다.
1) Brave Browser에 BAT wallet 적용
2) 지불 수단을 비트코인에서 BAT로 변경

지금까지는 비트코인을 지불 수단으로써 이용했는데, Mercury 업데이트 이후로는 BAT를 사용하게 됩니다.

그리고 Gemini에서는 실제 광고를 적용해서 BAT 생태계를 구성하고, Apollo에서는 Brave Browser 외에 다른 플랫폼으로 BAT 생태계를 확장시킵니다.

Brendan Eich라는 네임 밸류에 걸맞게 모든 개발이 차근차근 진행되고 있습니다. 광고가 인터넷 사용자에게 불필요한 것으로 인식되는 현 상황에서 BAT 생태계가 새로운 시스템을 구성할 수 있을지 주목됩니다.
