Investment In Naira Is Not A Good Store Of Value, And Not A Good Savings Option Either
I rather leave my money in a stablecoin like HBD, USDT, USDC, and BUSD. that I know the value is going to be constant or have a very little variation that is not going to be really noticed that much than to save my money naira, and the funny part is if you are from my country Nigeria, even if you leave your money in a stablecoin it will be more like you are actually investing the money because over time the stablecoin, will not change much in value but the value of the naira that keeps depreciating will make it look like you invested the money, when you carefully look at it. your money will increase and since almost every asset or currency in the world is paired against the United States Dollar, you will be making money regardless, when you put your money in a stablecoin if you are from my country.

Now let me give a real-life scenario, a friend of mine made an extra 187,305 Naira from helping someone hold 300,000 Naira, not that he invested it for just holding it, which is more than half of the money he was helping the person to hold. here is how he made the extra gains from just holding the money as a stablecoin and not even lifting a finger or trading but just holding the money and allowing the Nigerian economy to do its thing by the value of naira to depreciate and inflation of everything to skyrocket. when the money was sent to him dollar was 360 naira per dollar and now it is 582 naira and above depending on the peer-to-peer (P2P) merchant price you are comfortable with and the crypto exchange you are using. he made an extra $321.83 for holding $833.33 when he sold the USDT through Peer-to-Peer (P2P) for 585 per dollar, this is the reason why I don't keep my money in the bank.

For the investing in naira not being a good store of value, here is why. I hear stories about people who invested in naira and some years after complaining about the value of their investment depreciating instead of appreciating and it is really said because the whole point of investing was to make more money not lose money. so this lady complain on social media about how she made an investment of 10 million naira some years back but had to sell off her investment for 5 million naira because the value of naira kept on depreciating and her investment losing value, she said she regretted not making the investment in dollars back then, and if she had actually invested in dollars not naira back then her investment would have really made her huge profit now because she made the investment when a dollar was just 120 naira per dollars.

if mathematics is right, which am very sure it is, she should have made 38.5 million naira extra if she had invested in dollars than losing 5 million naira for investing in naira. And she is not alone in this there are so many other stories like her own out there that if I start analyzing this post won't end. and it is sad because investments are supposed to make you more money not cause you to lose more money.
