Peer to Peer (P2P) has become the wild wild west for transactions by criminals who disguise to be traders with the best prices available, the painful part about this new scamming method or cheating method is that you won't even know or notice if you don't take your time to check every single details twice before making any transaction, but since I have found some of them out I will share in this post, so you don't fall for them anymore, just read till the end for this post it will be worth it, trust me.

Since my country, Nigeria placed a crypto ban sometime last year, Peer to Peer (P2P) became very popular and the only source for us crypto traders to withdraw our money without raising any eyebrows or drawing any attention to our bank accounts, which will lead to the government or banks closing or freezing our bank accounts with all the money in your account becoming inaccessible.

So before I started trading on P2P, I had to meet a friend to teach me how it all works because I don't want to make mistakes or get scammed, he taught me how he picks those who he buys and sells his coins too. after I learned the simple steps he showed me, I was now confident with picking the right person and trade with them, until today, when I noticed what some criminals do.

**The Rules I Follow So I Don't Get Scammed:**
* Check how many trades the person has made, I only pick persons who have made more than +500 trades.

* What is the person's review percentage it must be above 85%

* The payment window should not be more than 15 minutes.

* Check the person's price to see if it is ok with me and if the money I want to withdraw is in the range the person displayed.

**I most often pick verified merchants.**

**Scams And Cheating Schemes Now On P2P:**
For those who trust a lot and do their transactions without double-checking or cross-checking every single information or data the person they want to trade with is providing, you will always fall for this scam or cheating scheme, if you are not careful, which is why a very good price, like someone who wants to buy your coin at a very high rate and after you select their price it will automatically change without you noticing or knowing, In a matter of seconds. That's why you need to double-check, before growing through with your trades.

**Note:** Even verified accounts do it too.

**For Example:**
Using my country as a case study, you see a sweet price like 596/$ and if you click on it within seconds it will change to 577% or lower. **always look at the top right to confirm the price before you go ahead with the trade.**

The next scam or cheating scheme is when the merchants tell you, that they don't do fractions, or their banks don't allow them to send fractions, it's a lie they don't want to send you your complete money. Another cheating scheme is when the person is adding extra charges to the money he or she wants to send to you, and deducting the charges from the money that will be sent. Be smart and follow these P2P guys with your eyes wide open to avoid them cheating or scamming you.
