For frequent public wi-fi users security should be a big concern.  Even networks secured with WPA2 are still very vulnerable to snooping mainly because the network key or password is the same everyone uses.  If someone is already capturing the packets it can be already monitored. Further, it's trivial to get the traffic to deauth and forced to re-connect, something that can happen quickly you wouldn't even notice it. 

If your using Firefox or Chrome, a great plugin you should be using right now is HTTPS-Everywhere.

This extension can help protect you from hijacking and types of snooping.  This will help you with two things:

- Will rewrite your requests to HTTPS to encrypt your non-secure traffic whenever possible

- Can be used to help block non HTTPS with filtering options

While you might feel a sense of security using a public WPA2 network this is far from the truth from snooping. It's important all your data is encrypted and you take measures on any public network.
