Why do we miss someone? Can’t we just undo everything that tore us apart?

But I think we miss someone because they once became our favorite. We miss someone because we are craving for them, like some part of us is missing.

Missing someone is like remembering the good things that you made together – like how you handled certain things, like how you turned dull moments into colorful ones, like how it felt like you guys were able to stop the rain in order to enjoy the day.

Missing someone is love, no matter how bad the things happened between the two of you in the past. We can’t deny that maybe a part of us is still longing for that person – their touch, their laughters, their smiles that brighten our days, and how our names come out from their mouths. That’s what we miss about them.

Maybe it’s true that we can’t undo the things that already happened. But for sure, those give us lesson. And those lesson are the reasons why we become who we are right now, or how much we've improved and handled our limitations.

We miss someone because they became important in our lives before. But if there’s one truth about missing someone, it’s the fact that we can move on from them. Maybe not sooner, but one day, I know we can finally say, *“Yes, I’ve already moved on.”*
