Bird of Paradise or Bird Flower is a species native to South Africa that is grown cultivated in gardens in tropical and subtropical regions. The term is dedicated to Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, wife of King George III of England, dead in 1818 and fond of botany.
It needs intense light three or four hours a day of direct sunlight, it does not flower with inadequate light. During the period of active growth, it can be grown under normal conditions. It needs moderate watering and normal humidity.
Between March and October requires large amounts of water. Birds of paradise are very sensitive to the attack of mealybug![_DSC0214.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmXr1rn94uV7e7pZEHZ5khJ4PJjPYY3JssV9shUHzUHFvb/_DSC0214.jpg)
