<div class=pull-left>These were from those constructions where people came to get away from the city in search of "simplicity", the convent had religious purposes and has a "Franciscan" touch, this means that it was at the order of the Catholic Church that had been founded in the 12th century, but there is something in the architecture of the convent that makes it very special and that you have probably never seen anything like it...😮🤯🤴👸

<div class=pull-left>As I mentioned before, the construction of the convent is quite simple and poor and we can clearly see how there is a fusion with nature to create an environment full of peace, tranquility and mysticism! At that height, the people who provided religious services used the "granite" rock of the place to create altars and houses.😮📚🤯

<div class=pull-left>The convent is also called the "Convent of the Cortiza" its construction dates back to the famous era of discoveries exactly in 1560, incredible right? we are seeing a space with almost five hundred years of Portuguese history! the convent was erected when king D. Sebastião was in the Portuguese crown, king Sebastião had made a vow to his father Sebastião that he would build a convent for religious purposes in the sierra de sintra!🤴👸🌻🌏

<div class=pull-left>Incredible how in the 15th century there was already an architectural advance where the properties of natural resources were used, both inside and outside the convent we see many constructions made with "cork" at that time it was known that this material was a great thermal insulator as well as noise too! Being very moist, the cork also absorbs moisture, giving pilgrims a more comfortable life and a legacy for today's architecture!💖💥
