Because of our bad chance, we were here on Sunday. City was crowded by local and international tourists. First of all we surprised with a 40% discount on the expensive round trip cruise ticket by holding Eurail Global Pass.
After a very pleasant cruise on the lake Lucerne, we arrived to Pilatus Bahn station near the Alpnachstad village. There was a long line of people just to catch the Cogwheel and we had to wait about 3 hours to get on board. We went to village and found it as a quiet and scenic place.
We were in the steepest cog railway in the world at 3 pm. A small cabin that climbs grades of up to 48% and makes a unique experience for you. Unfortunately, Cable Car working hours had been limited to 17 or 18 and there was again a long queue for return to Lucerne. Therefore, we had less than one hour to visit the 2132m height. But I think it was one of the best experiences which I enjoyed forever!
