The school system didn’t deem it necessary to teach us anything other than State and U.S. History (I use the words “teach” and “history” loosely... more like “force-feed” and “propaganda” for the most part). After a decade of this indoctrination, we finally got to a World History class. Unfortunately, by that time, most of us were so set-in-our-ways and/or too egocentric to give a shit.    I have a dear friend who is a World History teacher in middle school and she has a very difficult job......she is  doing the hard work of (re)molding the minds of brainwashed American kids, simply by showing them the World. Most of them, when they arrive to her, have yet to see or even consider the World. I know it’s a relatively thankless job, so I just wanted to say... thank you to all the teachers out there.
