Don't get me wrong, the curation bots do a great job and the whole trail phenomenon is a really interesting approach to curation.  discord is alive with excellent content being served up by lots of interested parties and curators.. HOWEVER, going back to 100% fully manual upvoting last week has been a joy.

## Creation vs Curation
I'm more of a content creator than a curator, my work is my curation ! so for me, giving my upvote to posts which genuinely provoke a reaction feels like I'm in control, adding a valuable contribution and makes steemit feel close up and personal. I've met some really good people in my short time as part of LOST.. I mean this experimental social media project. ( By far, the best they ever came up with and we're only in BETA ?? uhh) and I like that I can contribute to their payouts. I'm no whale daddy but I think it's still important to upvote, comment and resteem what I find interesting. Since taking back control of my voting I've been really pleased to see my voting power up high and It feels great being able to freely use my votes on a daily basis, knowing that I'm spending them well !! U-Raa, to borrow a phrase from the US marine corps.

### After some careful consideration
I've been thinking, it seems comments don't get rewarded enough so I'm upvoting more comments.. and although my meagre steem power (all earned or won) might not make much difference to a successful poster with a big following (I don't judge by numbers just quality so will still add to a $50 payout with a few extra cents) It's when *noobs* post, who notice the difference from smaller payouts, it feel like I can really makes a valuable contribution to everyone's experience. The more steem in the system the better for all the cryptos out there !

I just found out this evening that I won the grand prize from googlyeyes competition this week with an augmented piece of street art which was crying out for some eyes. I've been watching the googlyeyes from a distance from Dailyphotoselection inclusions by the mighty @photo-trail and thought it was time to have a go, add something a bit different.. It paid off and the really great thing is I'll be getting..
