My missus would like to be a good gardener. She's always buying plants and seeds with good intentions, but I know from the start they have a slim chance at survival. She just doesn't look after them, and unless I manage to adopt them they usually die pretty fast! This is what the Daffodils should look like at this time of year, shooting up with vigarous growth after the cold snap triggers them into bloom. There colourful flowers are one of the first signs of the arrival of Spring which seems to be earlier each year. But this sorry looking bunch have been neglected and abandoned the poor things! They have had the cold exposure from being left outside in bags, but they should have been snugly protected in the ground months ago. So I grabbed 1/4 Pint my smallest helper to assist me in Saving the Flowers! He's a proper wild child behaves more like a feral beast, but he has to be tough to survive with his older brother trying to run the show! We work well as a team it's incredible the bright minded intelligence and understanding that a 3 year old shows. I was digging the holes with the Japanese **hori hori** knife, and he was following behind me planting the bulbs and covering them over. We quickly ran out of room in the garden, there were hundreds of them! So we planted the rest all round the neighborhood to brighten up the place. We were just in the nick of time and most of them will survive I think :-) # Bring on the Sunshine!! ๐
