It is a fork of Ethereum and as such provides its own blockchain running Ethereum Virtual Machine. Musicans earn 1MC per stream and this can be traded on Bittrex for BTC. VERDICT: 5/5 – Excellent system with a solid team and clear and robust fundamentals. 1MC per stream model works and is excellent. DSOUND - https://dsound.audio/#/feed DSound is built with React, and uses many open-source packages from NPM. Communicating with the STEEM Blockchain which it is built. Users generate STEEM credits via upvotes which they can convert into BTC. VERDICT: 4.5/5 – Excellent seemless system and interface built on the STEEM blockchain. Only drawback is that artists are not paid per stream. CHOON - https://www.choon.co/ A music streaming service and digital payments ecosystem powered by the Ethereum blockchain designed to solve some of the music industry's most fundamental problems. ‘Streaming As Mining’ concept offered as a way to grow the network. Still in development phase. VERDICT: 4/5 – Excellent design idea with ‘streaming as mining’ system. Still in developmental phase so jury is still out. RESONATE - https://resonate.is/ Music streaming service where listeners ‘only pay for what you play’. Built using blockchain technology. VERDICT: 3/5 – Similar to traditional models where listeners pay for streams. VOISE - https://www.voise.com/ VOISE is a blockchain powered anonymous decentralized platform with personalized token based on Ethereum's smart contract ecosystem for transactions. VOISE is an innovative cryptocurrency powered solution for the music industry that allows artists to monetize their work in a collaborative P2P marketplace. They can set a price for their works, provide free sample tracks and seek support from music enthusiasts and users on the platform. VERDICT: 3/5 – Similar to traditional models where artists are still expected to allow listeners to listen for free thereby not allowing value to permeate through the blockchain.
