According to Stephen Hawking, time didn't exist before the Big Bang. From what I gather, time has multiple dimensions like an x,y, and z axis. Before the Big Bang, the matter, space, and energy (all the same thing) by which time was binding (not binded)existed in the form of a singularity. In essence, everything that ever was was curving upon itself in a sort of feedback loop that prevented it from expanding from a single point. This loop eventually broke and the Big Bang resulted<br>
<h2><center>Allegedly</center></h2> I'm agnostic so I take everything a Scientist and a Priest say with a grain of salt and this is no exception. But I love to play along and really have to if I want to keep justifying my own philosophies....so assuming what Stephen said is true, we can say that 0+0=1 because 'nothing' turned into everything we know today. But wait no we can't say that because we all know matter can't be created or destroyed. Matter can only be transformed into other configurations of matter and this transformation is what we call energy. So when Stephen says nothing, he must be clear by what he means.<br>

So when Stephen says nothing he means that the world as it exist today with space, matter, and time constantly warping and interacting with each other's boundaries didn't exist because the laws(or code) by which they are executed had not yet been executed itself. Its very similar to 1 to the power of infinity. The answer will always be 1 but the calculator you put that into will never stop(good luck tryingto find a calculator with an 'infinity' button btw). I'll say it forever....We live inside Windows 95.<br>
